I will remain optimistic, but Colorado was 132 in sacks given up in 2023 with 56, and 126 this year giving up 43. Might be the style of scrambling offense with Shedeur not staying in the pocket and causing confusion on the blocking assignments. Or fatigue as Colorado did not seem to sub out much. I am excited that we did make some changes and hope to see a few more.

I thought our OL got better as the year progressed, but it still wasn't great.

I'll err on the side of positivity in that the new guy did play in the NFL for several years and might know a thing or two. I am hopeful that he's able to channel that experience into teaching. If not, then it's another nepotism hire strike against Lebby.

Honestly my bigger concern is the DL as we cannot possibly be much worse than we were this year.

Colorado's rate of sacks allowed this year was roughly 8.6%. That's 109th in the country. They were a little worse the year before, allowing sacks on 10.6% of pass attempts, which was 124th nationally. (For context, this year State's rate of sacks allowed was 9.4%, which was 118th.)

As for run blocking, they averaged 2.5 yards per rush this year, which is last in the country. And, despite being bottom three in the country in rushes per game, they were 112th nationally (and next to last in the Big 12) in TFLs allowed. This was all roughly equivalent last year, when they were also last in country in yards per rush and were 110th in TFLs allowed.

But, hey, the DE coach had some success. Colorado led the Big 12 in sacks and TFLs this year, and in conference play were 3rd in the Big 12 in yards-per-rush allowed.

dang, we fired Lebby? Ya'll were right, his hiring is what got him fired in year 1.
If he can't get **** together it's only a matter of time. His coaching hires and lack of recruiting what we actually need and coaching them up for us 2-10 this year. So yeah I'd say it's his undoing. It started with ****** assistant coach hires. Looks like he has doubled down on that. Colorado line was trash. Sanders dogged them constantly and ran for his life. It's only an upgrade because our line was about as bad as you could get
