Not a rant but a simple acknowledgement of the current system. Points out there is no more program-building but only team-building. Try to make the best team you can for that year, knowing you're going to lose your best players in the offseason.

The same thing happens to a lot of lower level P4 schools as well, and not just G5. The old adage “there is no honor among thieves” certainly rings true in college football. That's especially true for a lower level program like Coastal Carolina.
I saw a stat that the G5 winning # against the P4 conferences since NIL/transfers became a thing is lower than it's ever been. I don't remember the exact numbers unfortunately. The same thing happens to a lot of lower level P4 schools as well, and not just G5. There is a very interesting dynamic between the P4 programs and the G5 programs. On the one hand, the P4 programs give the illusion of wanting to create a more level playing field by allowing the G5 to have a seat at the playoff table. On the other hand, the P4 schools routinely come in every season a cherry pick the very best talent from the G5 teams, ensuring that they’ll never be strong enough to really compete with the P4 programs.

Doesn't have anything to do with greed. Greed is the distraction. Dig deeper..... it's about up-ending American institutions. That's about as much as I can say without breaking the rules.I agree. This has gotten totally out of hand.
However, I’m afraid greed has won. The great game of college football we all love might be gone forever.

That certainly casts a different light on the notion that the previous transfer rules were deemed anticompetitive.I saw a stat that the G5 winning # against the P4 conferences since NIL/transfers became a thing is lower than it's ever been. I don't remember the exact numbers unfortunately.
The CFP putting G5 schools in the playoff is nothing more than affirmative action for college football.I saw a stat that the G5 winning # against the P4 conferences since NIL/transfers became a thing is lower than it's ever been. I don't remember the exact numbers unfortunately.

OR: "We know you aren't good enough to beat any of these P4 teams in the regular season and are regularly scheduled as homecoming opponents but we are going to throw you a bone to shut you up about not being invited to the playoff.""Yes, we'll give you a spot in the playoffs, but before you get there, we'll have taken all your top players to ensure you won't be able to compete with the big boys."
