Damn I have missed this ****. I'd almost thought the Ron Polk way was how it's supposed to be. Great to have a coach with some fire. 2 of top prospects in MS committed, one of the best in the Southeast has us as his leader over Vanderbilt, and two of the best in Alabama have us as leaders. And Dandy Dozen guys begging us to let them walk on.

Now, if they can just coach a little bit.

this is just the beginning of what Cohen can do. We could have been getting guys like this all along if Polk would have recuited somebody instead of writing letters to the NCAA. Polk you are a piece of ****.

Awalker I really don't appreciatie your comments. (cough) We just don't have the funding that schools in Georgia and Louisiana do, because of the Evil NCAA and their giving scholarships to women's rowing. We had good kids who could have played hard if they just hadn't been devestated by injuries. (cough) We were a little young this year, but Tommy was going to have them back on the right track next year. So I would appreciate it (cough) if you would just back off. You should have read my thesis that I sent out last year (cough). You would have understood my philosophy a lot better. That's baseball.

Sincerely,

Punched in the Stomach.

Otherwise there would be no way that MSU could get a prospect over Ole Miss. Just ask Yancy. He'll tell you how it is.

2010/11 we will be scary good. NC good.

2012 and 2013 we possibly could be NC good. I am hopeful that the classes and teams before that can set one of those teams up to do that.

I do expect us to be very good by 2010 and 2011, though.

It's kind of weird, because even though my overall expectations for the programs long term future are very high, my short term expectations are probably the lowest I've ever had for MSU baseball.

the worst season in history (or close to it) it is easy for short term expectations to be low. However, baseball is a sport that can turn around much more quickly. At least it should turn around more quickly at MState.

Are you predicting a national championship?

Because there are NC calibur teams that don't make it to the CWS every year....

And then there are OSU and Fresno that end up winning the entire things, with lesser talented teams...

Nope 2012 wouldn't be the end of the world. Tommy versus MSU for the national title. This would be the seventh seal.

We have the greatest baseball program and tradition in the entire country. Of course players are going to come to State over Ole Miss. Every time. Typical Rebel.

but my expectations being to finish 9th and make a regional is low for me, but this will probably be the ONLY time they are this low.

No not really. But wouldn't that be just our luck? State makes it to the championship series and there standsTommy Raffo. Oh the horror if we didn't pull it out.

Right, dubmass. National Championship calibur teams win National Championships. Oregon State and Fresno State were less talented? You are the biggest idiot I've ever come across. You don't luck into a National Title. Maybe a 5 game run to the CWS, but not the whole damn thing. I know you think you know every thing about baseball now because your beloved Rebels made a few postseasons and if you can't get to the CWS by damn, the other teams that do are just lucky. You are ignorant as hell. Stop posting.

Taking Arkansas State to the Finals of the CWS would be outright miraculous. Heck, them making a SR would be a miracle.

I think it is much more likely that we would face Raffo in the finals at another school after he moves up from ASU.

Of course, all this is contingent on him doing a good job.

that was at Kentucky in baseball. Cohen doubled their postseason appearances, I think without looking it up. I think that if he had stayed there, they would have broken through eventually.

Don't you think Stansbury would have better luck in the postseason if he was at, say North Carolina?

MSU 3X> Kentucky in baseball...helluva lot easier to recruit to S'ville as we are now seeing

Everybody is about to see what Polk should have built here.

What are your realistic expectations for Cohen? What does he have to accomplish to be successful in your opinion? You have obviously supported him to be our HC since long before the hire. He is proving that he can recruit. How long will you give him to make a regional? To host a regional? To make a SR? To host a SR? To make the CWS?

Just curious.

The only time we should ever be facing Raffo (while he's at ASU) is in late February, early March. I wonder if we will be scheduling AState anymore now?

same as I gave Crooms- we better be rolling in year 3.

I think he will have us close or even in a regional by year 2. After that, its time to be what we are supposed to be. Only way i'll be concerned is if we arent in Omaha by the end of his 5th season.

...we all know Cohen inherited a situation equally as bad as Croom inherited, so it's fair to give them the same amount of "time."

Now I know you're ridiculous.

Edited to add: On top of that, we all know that it is far easier to win in baseball than in football at MSU, yet you still hold them to the same standard. Unbelievable.

but there's no comparison at all between what he inherited and what Croom inherited.
