The CWS will consist of eight teams from either the SEC or the ACC. Wonder if that ever happened before?

When a quarter of the initial field is from two conferences then its pretty likely this will happen.
In my opinion the selection committee is driven by d1baseball.com. They are extremely ACC/SEC biased.
Some more deserving teams were left out.
The argument is always "look how strong these conferences are because of how much success they have in the post season." Well the success they have is, in a large part, due to being put in that position each year.

SEC a lot of years will have multiple teams in Omaha. The year we repeated there were 3 teams there and they only lost to each other(mainly them losing to us), and I was watching some championship videos on the CWS, in 1997 the SEC had 4 teams there including the two finalists.

Another thing would be to see how many times the other conferences had the two finalists, the SEC has done it at least twice(1997 and 2011).

Yeah usually most of the acc is proven overrated by now by a large margin. This year seems to be an exception. Guess the odds were at some point they would live up to the hype.

Well it's official... It will be an all SEC championship. Four of the first five eliminated were the ACC teams... all of them. Didn't see UK being the first SEC out but oh well... at least they lost to in-conference teams. In fact no SEC team lost to an ACC team in Omaha. That was about as dominant as a conference can be. Funny too because it looked like the brackets were set up to minimize the chances of this happening. lol

I will say that FSU should have been the exception against Tennessee the first meeting. That was a very marginal and fortunate third strike call that went there way.

If nothing else, FSU clearly looked like the best of that conference. On the other hand, wouldn't surprise me to see UF come back to win two against aTm and compete against Tenn. Still much up for grabs. Anyone's game

does tonight’s dominating performance against the Seminoles change your mind? Quit kidding yourself. The gamecocks are the greatest questionable Call teams in college history.

That’s all you got. You are loser but at least you’re used to it.
He's not the one with nothing better to do than go to a fan website of a team your not a fan of just to stir the pot and call people names.

Well there were still 2 outs when Burke ended up hitting the single after fouling off the next pitch after the check swing. FSU still had 2 chances to shut the door after that, but couldn't get the job done. Let's not forget they'd already allowed the tying run to get on base before Burke even came to the plate.
And spare me the "momentum changed" blah blah blah BS. It changed LONG before Burke's check swing.

Tennessee is certainly the more talented team. I wasn't really disputing that although FSU accounted well for themselves. My only point is Tennessee was extremely fortunate the umpire saw that as a check swing.

They were fortunate. But FSU still had a chance to put them away.

A game like that no true baseball fan wants to end on a check swing call.

I will agree with this and Batgirl’s statement.
Good luck with your new coach.
