Anyone attending?

"To celebrate CU being the center of the sports world, the university is holding a free event that will be open to the public."

Penn State should celebrate James Franklin similarly.

And what did the media make up in this story? The narrative was created when Colorado beat the 2022 CFB runner-up in Week 1. Joe Public didn't need the media to convince him (wrongfully) that Colorado was really good at that point. The game results took care of that. Then when the public saw Oregon take Colorado apart, they jumped on the 'Colorado sucks' bandwagon.

Lia Thomas came in second :)

Please take this opportunity to remember that Penn State has a culture problem.

Such a petty and pathetic look for Sanders and his program. I still can't believe anyone watches his son play and thinks, 'top overall pick for sure!'

Exactly... Deion getting into pizzing matches on social media is ridiculous. Now that is out there forever on the interwebs saying his son will be a top 5 pick he will be torched on social media and publically if he isn't ...

Why is anyone surprised? Deion has been this way since his playing days and apparently the apple didn't fall far from the tree with his kids. Colorado knew what they were getting.

It’s what we’re up against.

Remember week 1 and people were jumping up and down because the media was leading them by the nose. Imagine that they aren’t in the headlines anymore. Predictable.
Yup. I was one of them. But now that Coach Prime has been exposed as an immature ******* and his son has been exposed as a selfish prick, I couldn’t care less about them.

Cool, I still don't care. The media loves to build up and burn down people, so I just really don't care all that much about it. Sanders has always drawn the media's attention and I tuned it out years ago for some reason.

Deion is who he has always been- the kind of chest pounding self-promoter who has made sports so much less worth watching over the years.

Can you imagine Jim Brown, Arnold Palmer, or Micky Mantle pulling that crap?
What is interesting that kind of chest pounding self-promoter is what people want these days. People love it, at least at CU they love it, but you can say that about everywhere. Players don't care about the school. No one attends classes or intends to graduate. The minute things don't go their way players hit the transfer portal. People don't care. Shedeur Sanders did a pop-up event in Boulder a few days ago and the crowds were there.

None of this is my thing. I'm such a 20th century, JoePa, go to class and graduate type of guy none of this appeals to me but it doesn't matter. The world is moving on and couldn't care less what I think.

I thought Prime was on his way to TAM....oh well. Watching him last night I get the impression that really cold weather isn't one of his favorite things. Apparently he was under the weather and he looked miserable. He's destined to be in the south if anyone wants to take a chance on him.
Grambling would probably take him.

I think the media got what they needed from this. The first two weeks they were all over sportscenter and all the pre-game shows and their games were well-watched. Lots of eyeballs. Once the season started to get interesting for all the normal teams, Colorado faded from the spotlight.

They filled a vacuum.
They did and I think it was Electrolux.

I was looking for this thread...

I would just like to point out Colorado is 8-2, and could be 10-2 by end of season....and a chace to play in, and win, their conference and get into CFP.

They have the leading Heisman Trophy contender, possibly two 1st round draft picks, and just got a verbal commit from the 2nd overall HS QB.

I was critical of Deion last season, but he has done a nice job this season. I'm impressed with how he was able to build a competent defense so quickly. I still think there are holes in his game (like leaving his kid in late games to build stats at the risk of injury), but credit where credit is due. Now it sounds like he could be a candidate for other jobs (Cowboys? Yikes). That said, I think Kansas has a good chance to beat them this week.

I don't think this board could ever fully understand the depths of which Colorado football had sunk to. Just getting the team together and winning a few games last year was a major accomplishement.

Kansas has come on of late, and this game has taken on more importance than one would have thought 3 or 4 weeks ago.

I posted this because this board had very quiet on Deion as the season has progressed (as most of the noise has across the CFB world). If it weren't for Cignetti, I think Deion would be a shoo in for National Coach of the Year.

Yeah, Colorado was soooo bad a few years ago. It really is an impressive turnaround. Maybe a little less improbable in the current portal world, but he deserves kudos.
This should be one of the best games of the weekend. I'm looking forward to it.
Deion would certainly get some hype for COY, but Clark Lea and Kenny Dillingham would probably make stronger cases. They don't have the likely Heisman winner and a top 10 draft pick at QB.

You think Lea and Dillingham are stronger cases than Cignetti?
