Are we witnessing the end of them? Going in to the half, UGA QB looked awful close to being injured bad enough to miss the upcoming playoffs. Gotta wonder if we are at the point where teams see no upside in conference championships just prior to the playoffs. As easily as they can name the top two teams, they can name the conference champion. IMO, all it would take is one conference to say we are gonna designate a champion and the rest will follow suit. Just seems like the game can do more harm than good in today's college football. I realize it may be a cash cow for the conference but at the same time, it's also unnecessary. What is more important?

With the committee saying they WILL NOT PENALIZE the "losing" teams in the Conference Championship games.......

I'd love to see a coach and program with the gumption to hold a press conference, remind everyone of what the corrupt committee said, and then announce they're going to forfeit the game and rest their players for the playoffs......

Shove it right up the committee's bunghole.....

It’s as unnecessary as stupid bowl games

No. We’ll actually start to see a 4 team playoff within a conference once the cfp goes to 20+ teams. Gamecock Jacque has this pegged.

Since strength of schedule matters not, we must demand justice and playoff inclusion for the 9-3 MAC Champion Ohio Bobcats!!!

If that's the case why stop there? Four teams is a two game bracket and 16 teams is only four games. A true conference champion won on the field instead of just doubling down on another invitational on the cheap.

It doesn’t make any sense, especially if the loser is not penalized. All it does is open the door for a lesser team to get in, like we see with Clemson.

Yall do realize that we would be burning the up state if we were ranked 12th instead of Bama. With Clemson winning, Bama is out. Could you imagine if that was us being bumped out a week after beating them?
