They are building on an admirable example. The new Tennessee of the SEC !
Trying to run off their coach after one year, and build some case for cause. Their assistants have fled like lemming off a cliff. What’d those cheating idiots do this time?
Since When, this is ALLBARN we are talking about, the booster run that showYou wonder if the AD was trying to outmuscle the boosters such that he would hire the "wrong person" just to assert his position.
Now to be fair, the boosters ought to stay out of it and let those who are supposed to be in charge do their jobs.
I think he is a great fit and should be promoted and extendedThe only thing AD Allen Greene did when he shut the boosters out of the Harsin hire was dare them.
So now, he has been slipped to the side in this scuffle. A Vice President who sits on the board of one of the companies owned by one of the biggest boosters supposedly has been put in charge of the investigation of Harsin. At least, that's the current chatter. The current president is lame duck and the AD 's contract is up next year. Timing is everything.
Who knows what the real truth is, but I'm sure it's this level of manipulation or something else similar.
Harsin was a bad fit..everyone knew that. They could have stopped trying to one up each other down there and saved a lot of money.
Correct, that's why I stated ought.Since When, this is ALLBARN we are talking about, the booster run that show
I think they ought to manage Harsin the same way we have managed Frank. Frank has received exemplary treatment from us. Our approach in this regard has been an example for the entire country to follow.I think he is a great fit and should be promoted and extended
Other than keeping Frank on board for an extra year or two too many, I agree.I think they ought to manage Harsin the same way we have managed Frank. Frank has received exemplary treatment from us. Our approach in this regard has been an example for the entire country to follow.
Well, if we hadn't done that, we wouldn't have been exemplary. Every year we keep him only enhances our praiseworthiness.Other than keeping Frank on board for an extra year or two too many, I agree.
Dance in ten or try again?I think they ought to manage Harsin the same way we have managed Frank. Frank has received exemplary treatment from us. Our approach in this regard has been an example for the entire country to follow.
I've got a new one but I'm not sure the new board is nailed together tight enough to handle it. It took every bit of the restraint I possess not to put it out there. No, it's not dirty.Dance in ten or try again?

Hey, if her hair was a different color I’d think of petrino! The new Tennessee of the SEC !
Well, didn't you just describe our board?I know fans don’t care for our BOT, but it’s no worse than having a bunch of big-bellied, good old boy boosters calling the shots.

Perhaps, but why should we settle for that?I know fans don’t care for our BOT, but it’s no worse than having a bunch of big-bellied, good old boy boosters calling the shots.
No, people would think I was wishing death on somebody and there are already folks who look askance at me. However, if things get ugly enough....
I think I know what it is, and over on the Insider some of those folks declared it in the last two years and have been fighting to the death to make it true.
Not saying we should. But, if you've got a big-time program (not saying Auburn currently is one), the boosters call the shots. Here it's the BOT.Perhaps, but why should we settle for that?
Feels like making a deal with the devil. Not saying we should. But, if you've got a big-time program (not saying Auburn currently is one), the boosters call the shots. Here it's the BOT.
3&9 sounds greatWell, Harsin is being retained. I take that to mean that Auburn couldn't find a way to fire him on the cheap. They've blown his foot off and now have to watch his handiwork - and pay for the privilege. What a mess.
It might interest you to know a little Auburn football coach/ booster interference history. An Auburn super booster once ran the athletic program like his own plantation. He directed the then President of Auburn to charter the school plane to go to Louisville to interview his coaching candidate despite the fact Auburn already had a coach: Tommy Turberville, who is now a U. S. Senator. Strange world we live in. Auburn was alleged to have an accounting system clever enough to hide payments to players and got away with it This booster was said to be the master mindYou wonder if the AD was trying to outmuscle the boosters such that he would hire the "wrong person" just to assert his position.
