This team would have been up and down all year even with Kodi in there because of all of the inexperience. Sure we would have won a few games that we lost, but I think we also would have a lost a few we won because of our 3 point shootingFrances Drebin said:...you say that you aren't saying I'm not a real fan, but then you question why I'm bitching about Kodi's PT after a nineteen point win. Yeah, whatever.
I'm all about the big picture. The win today is great, but we shouldn't be in this position. If you let your joy about a win over a terrible UGA team override your frustration over what could've been this year, then I have more of a right to question your fandom. The attitude you have is very much Genespagesque, to use your phrase.
This is true of State because Stans' coaching philsophy. Once we went to that four guard lineup, we weren't changing, and once teams adjusted, we were too easy to defend and we lost some games. My point isn't limited to playing Kodi more minutes. We need to be able to make adjustments, not just in-season, but in-game. We need to be able to take what the defense gives us. Any team in the nation can win when they shoot 45 percent from behind the three point line, but we need to be able to go with something else when that isn't working. Fishwater says we live by the three and die by the three and that's right, but we shouldn't have to. We could live by the three, and live by Augustus and Osby at the high post when the three isn't falling. This team would have been up and down all year even with Kodi in there because of all of the inexperience. The man can simply do no right in some of your eyes. ***** after a loss. ***** after a win. It is a never-ending cycle.
It is always about "what could have been" instead of just enjoying what you have in front of you. That is why you constantly come off as bitching about the basketball team. Sure I have some gripes about Stansbury, but my God you and quite a few others take it to ridiculous levelsFrances Drebin said:...I'm not bitching about our win here today. You are lumping me in with others. I even say down the board that I think we can win the tournament.
I'm definitely disappointed about what this year could've been. Damn me for expecting our basketball team to be successful. Your attitude is the one that kept Sherrill here a year too long, and it's the one that put up with Croom's ******** for too long. You talk about the "inevitable 'Go back to GP'" comment, but pot, meet kettle with your "MState sports doesn't make you happy" BS. Seriously, if you can't debate my points on merit and have to resort to "Stans hater" responses, then you don't have the mental capacity to be posting here to begin with.
What's in front of us? An NIT berth? Am I supposed to get excited about that? Maybe we go on a miracle run and win the tournament and get in the NCAA as a 12 seed, but I can't help but thinking about what could have been with wins against Charlotte, San Diego, Texas Tech, Alabama, Ole Miss, etc. Those things just didn't magically go away.It is always about "what could have been" instead of just enjoying what you have in front of you. hell last year we were looking at an NCAA birth and you were playing the what if game because of the seeding. Like I said it is always something. Until we play the perfect season, and get a high seed you will continue to *****. Anybody with any sense knew this would be an up and down season this year, and now that it was you act shocked by itFrances Drebin said:What's in front of us? An NIT berth? 'This win will hurt us in the long run..', I don't think you need to be talking about anyone's mental capacity.
Had we played better and won the games we were supposed to win, we wouldn't have had to play the number one seed and national runner up in the second round. All those games during the course of the season count, which is why we can never afford to come out flat, or be unprepared, or unwilling/unable to make adjustments in-game.hell last year we were looking at an NCAA birth and you were playing the what if game because of the seeding. Reality is that we made the Tournament just LAST YEAR, and still have a shot THIS YEAR.Now, to your Sherrill point. AGAIN, you suck at reading comprehension. Maybe our resident ACT expert can give you some tutorials. I wasn't comparing Sherrill's job to Stansbury's job. I was comparing you and your attitude about Stans to others and their attitudes about Sherrill. You know, let's turn a blind eye to reality because we really like the coach and we're hanging our hat on what he did five years ago.
20 wins with a shot at the Tournament is a C program now? Wow. I never knew. And regardless of your "built program" comments about Stans, our basketball program is comparable to a C student right now.
while you ***** and complain along the way. Good luck with thatFrances Drebin said:Had we played better and won the games we were supposed to win, we wouldn't have had to play the number one seed and national runner up in the second round.
