of course he does. Gene is one of the biggest tater fans out there. I'm not on the "fire Beamer" wagon yet but he's not done a thing worthy of a raise or extension. Stupid

Still very supportive and have faith in Beamer.
But stand pat and hold.
Don't think Beamer believes he is worthy of any increase or extension.
Put that thought/money toward staff new hires/upgrades.

As much as we hate Dabo ove here, that is exactly what he did to get those great assistants. He forewent the pay raises with the longview in mind so they could pay the assistants more. It has worked out for him until now, but it isn't a bad thing completely. All of Saban's great asistants eventually leave for head coaching gigs. That is the sign of a healthy program.

He doesn't deserve a raise, yet he took a 2-win football team to a bowl game and won over UNC produced Josh Vann who hasn't done nothing before his senior year helped develop Foster from walk on to All American. Recruited 3 freshmen All American safety's. Developed XL to this monster we seen this year. Overachieved the first two years and the upper classmen right now were from his 70 something ranked recruiting class. I keep asking the question where our entitlement comes from when we have played football for 100 years and our average wins per season are around .500. Give the man time to build something.

I don't think it's entitlement at all. Mostly frustration I would guess.

That is mostly in response to assuming that every top player and coach would just come here. I think we need to realize we aren't a destination for top coordinators right now. Our recruiting classes are some of the bests in program history (from overall team numbers) will they develop into stars we will see. However, we've seen this staff develop guys that most the fan base gave up on. With a few classes stacked on top of each other we can make noise but that takes time. I get frustration but just saying fire White and go get Arnette or Riley last year. Definitely easier said than done.

Didn’t say he didn’t deserve more money. He did imo. But not as much as he got

Did he even reach one of his contract incentives this year?

I can't read the article - how many years does he have left? I was fine with the raise last year to make him 11th out of 14 coaches instead of 14 out of 14. I think he deserved that. Pretty sure he'll be back down to 13th out of 14 by the end of this offseason.

But I definitely don't see any reason for a long-term extension at this point. Have a good year next year, then maybe bring this up.
