Crazy Finish to F1 where Verstappen wins the championship over Hamilton last lap and cautions.

I watched it as well. What an amazing race. I still can't believe the luck Max had to get that safety car at the end that allowed him to get fresh tires on for that last lap. I didn't think he had a chance especially after the first lap where Lewis was allowed to cut corners without penalty.

count me among many who have grown weary of Lewis Hamilton’s (albeit impressive) success... but much of Max’s “luck” yesterday was from ham-handed race “stewards” who are charged with concocting drama

F1 is sad

I was tired of Lewis winning as well. I can't stand him and Toto.

There certainly is some element of at a minimum inconsistent rulings by the stewards. They seem to interject themselves in every race. F1 is a bit of a mess right now.

I agree allowing the lapped cars between max and Lewis through was very sketchy. The luck was that the crash happened. Plus for whatever reason they didn't pit Lewis. I don't know if he was past pit lane when the safety car was called out though.

I want to like F1 more than I do, but there are things that keep me from doing so. I find myself enjoying the older races on YouTube more than the new stuff.

the “Golden Era” of F1 is my favorite, alas nostalgia always tends to glaze over blemishes as the contests of the 60s - 70s were seldom nail-biters.... not to mention pilots shedding blood all over the circuits

todays machinery = aesthetic shitshow... The cars are wayyyyyyy too big, yeah i know the tiny cars of yesteryear were responsible for so many deaths and carnage... engine-notes need to be fixed... tracks are mostly trash... need to strip Pirelli of the exclusive tire provider role and allow other technology, though that will not be considered as it would mean $$$

This is the part that I think Mercedes objected to. Because only the 5 lapped cars that were between Max and Hamilton were allowed to unlap themselves, while the other lapped cars that were behind Max were not.

I kind of feel that since Liberty Media took over F1 from Bernie Ecclestone, things have become more inconsistent. And I don't seem to enjoy it as much as I used to.
