UM ends up the 1 seed in the West based on better conference record. Not sure how that plays for overall. I guess UK since they will have a W over UM.

Bama is surprise team to the good. USC and UF surprise to the bad.

I think we lose at Florida instead of Bama and end up winning the overall championship via tiebreaker. (2-1 vs. UK and UM)

We win the SEC with only two conference loses. Kentucky will also have two loses, but lose to us. We lose in our second game in the SEC tournament. Kentucky wins SEC tournament and gets a NCAA one seed. We get a four seed even after winning the SEC regular season championship. We all ***** and moan about our seeding and having to play in the toughest bracket. We make the sweet 16, but lose to a Cinderella team that no one expected to do well. Stansbury gets his sweet 16, but the fans remain split. Most will be happy with success, but the others will feel that the team under achieved.

will beat Kentucky? I say we finish 10-6, limp in the tourney as an 8 seed (at the highest), win one, and go home.

Is this a joke thread?

coming from wins over Centenary and Valley. The SEC is so terrible we should have no problem winning 10 games though.

I agree that the SEC is down this year. I think we take care of business in conference. In true bulldog fashion, we get screwed with our seeding and lose to the Cinderella of the tournament.

Also, I cannot see us beating Kentucky. From what I have seen, we will be lucky to go 11-5, with 10-6 more likely and 9-7 a possibility.

I also do not think that Ole Miss is that good. I do think we win the west. We might beat Kentucky, but I've got to see more before I can make the call.

I say we win 11 games and Ole Miss wins 9 or 10. If we get Sidney, the liines are altered.

Nice job breaking it down. Good food for thought.

unless Sidney qualifies and that isn't going to happen. We will have to be injury free to have half a shot at 13 and with the long season in the SEC taking a toll, I think we win 10-11. So far we have mostly lived by the three and everyone knows what happens when you live by the three. We will be stone cold some of those games and lose ugly. I think KY is too strong for us even in The Hump, winning at ARK and FLA is not going to happen either. The SEC may be down but I am not sure we are THAT good. We shall see.

You may be right, but what makes Arkansas such a certain loss? They are easily one of the four worst teams thus far. Losing there would be a huge disappointment,

You promised 30 wins this year. We have 12 wins now with WKU left, so let's say 13 just for kicks. Add 11 SEC wins and we are at 24. That leaves six more between the SECT and the NCAAT. Any way you slice that up, that's going beyond the second round.

Only once this decade has the SEC had 4 teams finish with a 12-4 record or better in conference. No way that happens this year in the weak *** SEC. It'll be Kentucky and everybody else once again. They'll end up 15-1 or 14-2 while UT, Florida, Ole Miss, and MSU fight it out for 10-6.

Somehow I don't see us at 13-3. I don't know about your team, but I think we'll take a couple more losses than that. I see us somewhere from 9-7 to 11-5.

The teams line up, having a weak conference overall can make it more likely to have several 12-4 teams, not less. Anyway, I'm in agreement that this probably isn't the year it will happen, because there are too many bubble teams.

I will add that the league is definitely stronger this year, and not just because UK is back in top form. Last year, the SEC had 3 NCAA teams, and one was us forcing a bid with a conference tournament title. This year, the league already has 3 Top 25 teams, with at least 2, and arguably 3 more at-large bids likely depending on how Vandy fares. Whether that means the league isn't "weak" likely won't be decided for several months.

Have you seen our defense or our rebounding?

We still have to work out a rotation as well. The talent on the court is good, but we haven't gelled yet. On paper we should win a lot of those games you list, but we're going to lose a couple extra due to some of the kinks we haven't worked out yet.

I sure hope you're right about us, but I just don't see it right now. Our team hasn't come together to the point that I feel confident they'll win all the games they could and only lose the toughest 3. Road games against SC, Bama, and LSU could all challenge us, and the home games with Florida, Vandy, and MSU all have the potential for losses as well. You listed 3 games that I'm pretty confident we won't win. We'll find another couple losses to go along with that. We're just not at the point of being 13-3.

Disagree on your reasoning. A bunch of weak teams in the league tends to lend itself to more teams having big conference records. A stronger league top to bottom would lead to fewer teams with big records.

The fact that Auburn, LSU, Bama, Arkansas, and Georgia all look so bad mean that the top teams should get more wins this year.

Wouldn't think facetious would be that hard of a word to spell. Unless you meant he had a really big face, i.e. facecious, like spacious, only it means your face.

In the West , we sweep Auburn (2) and Arkansas(2) then spilt with Ole Miss, Alabama, and LSU . (7-3)

In the east , we beat Georgia and Tennessee, lose to Kentucky at home , and win one (1) on the road b/t S Carolina, Florida, or Vandy (3-3)

10-6 is more reasonable & tie Ole Miss for SEC West title .

No I meant exactly what I said. A horrible SEC doesn't mean that there are four 0-16 teams that everybody feasts on. ****, look at last year. One of the most horrible SEC basketball seasons on record and you had Auburn at 10-6, MSU at 9-7, Bama and Ole Miss at 7-9 and 5 teams in the East went 8-8 or better. The fact is that unless Kentucky has 12 or more wins, the SEC is perceived as down. But the conference has to be strong for there to be 4 teams with better than 12-4 records and that is just not going to happen this year. There's not much separating the middle of the pack, where UF, UT, MSU, Ole Miss, and Vandy will hang around.

really, the biggest concern i'd have for ole miss is the ability to win on the road. 4-20 in the sec, i think, since kennedy has been there. this is the best team he's had, but you just really don't want to drop any stupid away games

True, and there wasn't much separating the middle of the pack and the bottom of the pack last year. I think there is a wider gap though between the middle and bottom this year than last year. Could be wrong about that, but if there are 4 or 5 teams well below average, then it means more wins for the middle and top of the pack.

If everyone in the league theoretically went 8-8, it could mean that the league was really strong but equal across the board, or it could mean the league was weak but equal across the board. Either way, the common denominator is the parity. The less parity, the more wins for the league's best teams. Whether the league is weak or strong is irrelevant.

Last year, yes the league sucked, but there was a lot of parity. The best teams weren't a whole lot better than the worst, so records weren't far from .500 either way. The more 3-13/4-12 teams there are, the more 12-4/13-3 teams there are. That's the point.

Agree, and a big part of that has been that our team, with the exception of his first year, hasn't had experience yet. We're more experienced this year, but we're far from veteran with only one senior, so I expect us to take a bad loss or two on the road.

Until they show me that they can win on the road, I won't be speculating over tournament seeding.
