Swinney gave most of the credit to South Carolina's offensive line, which he said gave Rattler "forever and a day" to throw the ball. He also took a shot at the Volunteers defense.

"Tennessee is not built defensively, they're built to outscore people," Swinney said via 247Sports reporter Anna Adams.

Swinney also suggested that the Volunteers were looking ahead to the College Football Playoff instead of focusing on the Gamecocks.

"They’re flipping burgers during the conference championship weekend, like are we going to Atlanta or Phoenix, and next thing you know you forget you gotta go play," he said.

MAN I HOPE WE CAN PULL IT OFF

Well, he's right on all counts.

I don't think we won BECAUSE the Vols were looking ahead to the playoffs, but it was definitely in their heads.

And the OL did give Rattler a day and a half to throw on many downs.

Clemson will come out motivated to show they aren't UT on defense. I could see some early pressure and a Rattler sack.

Yes, but please let his boys have a let-down. Their D-Line is much better than TN and D-ends will need to be slowed down. KJ henry, who we had a shot at, is playing lights out. I would love to see us have 4 interceptions against what's his name. Two of those returned for 6. And then a short field for one more TD and a Field Goal. We score on one more drive and win 31 to 28. I'm trying wish some positive Karma on this thing. Win with dignity. Don't let Cam run around with his helmet off, or get a stupid penalty.

Yep, any chance we had of Clemson overlooking us is gone after what happened to Tennessee last Saturday. Of course, being Clemson’s rival means they weren’t going to overlook us anyway. They typically play well against us. One could argue us playing the way we do helps that…but I’d say it’s both. Last year we were probably Clemson’s most complete game.

That will be a key. DJ can be rattled. If we can pressure him and hit him a few times, there's a chance we can force him into some bad decision. As @Fried Chicken noted above, though, they are always zoned in for us. And, they are a program that's accustomed to making the playoffs, so they won't distracted by any of that. This is a considerably tougher task, but I think we have to go in with the same attack mentality we had against UT. There's a slim chance of a win either way, so might as well give it all we've got.

I'll be more interested to see how we fare on defense. We contained UT quite well and effectively held them 14 points below their season average.

Side note, we have not scored a TD against Clemson in the last 2 games. Obviously, that has to change.

Hard to believe the last time we played in Clemson, Jake Bentley and Deebo Samuel played for the Gamecocks.

He's right about the oline and their defense. But I don't believe for a second they overlooked us.

Get ready for Clemson to bring the heat all night. Satt better have some plays in the book to make them think and slow down that blitz. Receivers are going to have to win some more of those one-on-one matchups like this past weekend.

Yeah, I can't disagree with anything he said.

And unfortunately Clemson is not UT on defense, at all. But like I said before, their qb is a headcase. Mistakes will pile up on him unless they keep him clean and run well.
