Dak now has 14 interceptions on the season, and that’s with missing five games due to injury. I know a couple of them weren’t his fault, but that is way too many interceptions for an NFL QB. Derek Carr threw 14 interceptions in five more games and got benched.

Makes you wonder how many points they might have scored tonight if they hadn't turned the ball over three times.

If he had a TE or slot that he could count on you would see a different QB.
He literally has a top 10 TE (Shultz) and a top 5 slot (Lamb.) He said tonight that Shultz is the player he trusts most... As he threw him 2 TD's. The slot guy had 11 catches and 100+ yards.

Shultz was 5th in touchdowns and 6th in yards among tight ends last season. This season he has miss 2 full games, had to play with Cooper Rush for a while, and has been banged up a good bit . He's currently 5th in touchdowns and 10th in yards among tight ends.

CeeDee Lamb is currently #3 in the NFL in receiving yards. He has taken 613 snaps this season from the slot and only 268 on the outside.

And Matthew Stafford led the league in INTs last year and won the Super Bowl. Eli Manning did the same.

You can’t compare stats between eras. In 1992 a 1.5:1 TD:Int ratio was outstanding, and anything above 1:1 was pretty good. Today, if your less than 2:1, it’s a real problem.

I did some looking and you're right. Those 1992 stats are crazy. Here are some that stuck out to me:

Steve Young was easily the best at 25:7
Dan Marino - 24:16
Troy Aikman - 23:14
Jim Kelly - 23:19
Jim (Don't call me Chris) Everett - 22:18
Randall Cunningham - 19:11
Bobby Hebert - 19:16
Brett Favre - 18:13
Warren Moon - 18:12
Jim Harbaugh - 13:12
Boomer Esiason - 11:15
John Elway - 10:17

You can compare anything you want to but Dak is at 2.7 to 1.

Does dak need to throw less interceptions? Sure but he’s pretty 17ing good.

And there are a few people in this thread who won’t acknowledge that.

I'm talking about someone he can count on to get open and catch the ball beyond the sticks when he throws to a spot, or to help bail him out in a critical spot. Shultz gets targeted in the red zone so his numbers are good but not what I'm talking about. More than this I'm talking about a relationship like Edelman and Gronk for Brady. The possibilities of that happening around him with Jerry are impossible but that was what I was talking about.

This year, he’s 22:14. Looking at his career to date, that appears to be an aberration. But 22:14 just isn’t good enough.

Dak needs to throw less picks yes, but look at the W's. That's ultimately the measuring stick.

Only one team has more wins than Dallas, and Dallas has beaten that team twice, their only 2 losses.

Dak is #6 in QBR, ahead of Burrow.

Dallas is #2 in red zone TD scoring % behind Philly

Opinion quoted above.

Facts stated below.

It’s good enough for him to be the starting QB for the Dallas Cowboys with an 8-3 record and the team having the 4th best record in the entire league with two of those losses in OT.

Facts. The Cowboys are only hurt because they just happen to share the division with the hottest team in the NFC and Dak was hurt for their first head to head game. They beat the snot out of the only other good team in the Vikings. Sure they lost a couple of games they shouldn’t but it happens. The Eagles lost to the Redskins.

the rest of the NFC is trash but because they are the wildcard team they most likely won’t get a home game. But it’s not like a 5 or 6 seed winning their way to the Super Bowl is unprecedented.
