1) Saturday evening: Cavalcante steals a van and a green hoodie from Baily’s Dairy near Longwood Gardens. The keys had been left in the van.
2) 9:52 p.m. Saturday: Cavalcante travels to the home of a former coworker in East Pikeland, speaking with the coworker, who was away at dinner, through a video doorbell. The coworker does not respond to a request by Cavalcante to meet him. The coworker reviews his doorbell recording after returning home, and contacts local police.
3) 10:07 p.m. Saturday: Cavalcante appears at the residence of another former coworker in the Phoenixville area, who wasn’t home. Another resident who was present during Cavalcante’s visit calls a friend, who notifies police. Authorities discover that Cavalcante is driving a white vehicle.
4) 12:30 a.m. Sunday: The Pennsylvania State Police are notified of the sighting of Cavalcante in East Pikeland from earlier in the evening. It is the first indication that Cavalcante had eluded the search perimeter around Longwood Gardens.
5) 2:30 a.m. Sunday: Images from the doorbell video from East Pikeland are provided to state and local authorities.
6) 5:20 a.m. Sunday: Authorities discover the theft of the van from the dairy farm. State, local, and national law enforcement are notified.
7) 10:40 a.m. Sunday: The abandoned van is recovered in a field behind a barn in East Nantmeal.
8) 8 p.m. Monday: A motorist spots a male crouched near the woods off Fairview Road. Authorities respond and search a perimeter around the area, finding Cavalcante’s prison shoes. A nearby resident also reports that a pair of work boots were stolen from her home.
9) 10:10 p.m. Monday: Cavalcante enters a garage at a home on Coventryville Road and grabs a .22-caliber Ruger rifle with a scope. The homeowner, who was in the garage at the time, draws his pistol and fires at Cavalcante as he flees. A green sweatshirt and white T-shirt is found on the driveway. A new perimeter is expanded south of Route 23 and east of Route 100.
10) 1:38 a.m. Tuesday: State police confirm that Cavalcante is armed and ask residents of South Coventry to lock doors and windows and to secure vehicles. Residents leaving for work within the current search perimeter will have their vehicles searched and vetted before being allowed to depart.
11) 1 a.m. Wednesday: An airplane with heat-sensing technology picks up a thermal signal from Cavalcante behind a tractor dealership on Route 100 in South Coventry. Law enforcement officers secure the area, but a lightning storm forces the airplane to depart. After regrouping a little after 8 a.m., State Police and Customs and Border Patrol officers confront Cavalcante, who attempts to escape. He is bit by a police dog and subdued, and is taken into custody.
