I know David Cutclifee parted ways with Duke in November, as he is age 67, but I wondered if y'all had any insight into him recentlly. There is a lot of buzz that Texas is going to land him as an analyst or in an offensive position similar to that given to Gary Patterson on defense. Of course, Texas is in a battle with Georgia and Ole Miss for young Arch Mannings recruitment. Any rumors you have heard?

Good question, Battleship. I haven’t heard. But in the lottery for Arch Manning, hiring an old family friend who happens to be an incredible QB coach is not a bad idea.

It really has been a mess for Texas for a while now. Yes, it’s been a mess for us, too, but without the storied history or expectations of championships. What is your take on Texas right now? Are they moving in the right direction? It can’t be any fun to be the SEC Shorts punchline before you are even in the SEC.

This is the first I'm hearing of it. I guess he could work some more if he didn't work too hard.

Has Arch officially taken Clemtec off his list? If not, watch Diablo go after Sutcliffe.

Texas may make some uexpected waves in the mighty SEC. A lot more interesting games and Texas' culture melds well with the SEC. I wonder if the deciders will have an oops moment like they did with Mo. and put Texas in the Eastern division. The mighty SEC will get even mightier and other conferences will be crying in their beers and will want to take their ball and go home. Two of the most storied FB powers will raise the level of play. Hope Shane can KO Ok.
It might take a while but Texas may slap Bama down as the No. 1 FB power in the SEC.

I think it is yet to be seen if the divisional setup as we have known it goes forward. A 16-team conference allows for some interesting possibilities.

I just heard that rumor about Cutcliffe but it was stressed that "it was a good possibility" nothing concrete. Then my friend tells me this bombshell, " End of Harsin's time at Auburn may be Imminent" , immediately followed by "my source is reliable, but this is just damn crazy s**t, I don't know what to make of it".
TIFWIW.

I don't see how he can stay after all this.

Have you read the Auburn site. Some interesting comments
No, sir I haven't. I'll take a look. Update: I took a look. It's chaos. It's certainly untenable. If he survives this - if there has ever been anything exactly like this - he would be the first. And if he survives it in the short term, how could he build a credible program?

As bad as it is, who in their right mind would take this job, at this point in time. Spring practice is just 2 months away, one would assume more players would transfer out with a new coach coming in. This takes the word implosion to a whole new level.

It would have to be a wounded or worn-out head coach or a hungry assistant coach.

I think he has ruled Dumbo out. I really don’t think be was really giving much consideration to the ACC.

Yeah, he made pretty clear to Texas that the reason we are in consideration is we will be an SEC team during most of his college career and our staff is full of recent ex-Alabama coaches.
