and no, I didn't jump on this board or more importantly an Ole Miss board to crow about "the big win". We absolutely sucked offensively in that game against a damned C-USA team so I felt no desire to beat my chest over the unimpresssive win. Was I happy that we won the game? Sure. Did I feel the need to thump my chest over our craptastic performance? Hell no!! Therein lies the big difference between our fan bases. I've said it here before. OM fans (by and large) act like spoiled little brats. When things go their way, they are going to show their *** and be insuferrable little pests. When things don't go their way (i.e. 2009 Egg Bowl), they go into hiding for a while and refuse to talk about it. They are the walking epitome of "can dish it out, but can't take it".

I know you aren't comparing Croom's Liberty Bowl win that almost every game we won that year was ugly and we were averaging like 16 ppg to a team that was ranked 4th at 1 time and averaged 30 ppg and looked like absolute **** in the Cotton Bowl.... There is one thing that's in common with those two teams... 17-14 and 41-27... I'll let you figure it out.
And to answer your question, yes people bitched about the ugly *** win in the Liberty Bowl.... Because they knew it was a damn fluke season and that we were going to suck the next season...... Kinda like y'all will next year.
Sure I'd have liked the Egg Bowl, but I'll take 9-4 with a Cotton Bowl win and a very possible Top 25 finish and be pleased with it.

"Satisfying" is not one of them. I would think "underwhelming" would be much better. When you think of what Ole Miss had coming back, the fact that they had 4 wins before the season ever started, and had a very favorable home/away SEC schedule, 8-4 (now 9-4 thanks to playing an even more disappointing team than Ole Miss) just isn't very impressive or satisfying to me. Think about this - Ole Miss had exactly the same number of wins over bowl teams during the regular season as lowly MSU.
There was no excuse for Ole Miss to have more than 2 losses this year. Face it, this year was a severe job of underachieveing. Ole Miss had everything set up to do so much more and fell way short.
