Defense sucks

You are going to see about 5 of these defensive players in the NFL. Can't blame it all on a lack of talent.
A good DC could do better with the talent available.
Agree 100%. Talent is there. These guys have no idea what they’re doing out there, and that’s all on coaching.

This was a very tough loss to take. Seemed like no home field advantage at all.
Would be nice for the offense to actually close a game out for once. Defense is not good but we put it on their shoulders by not getting a few first downs. I'm not blaming the offense but it was in their hands too.

No way you should lose when scoring 39. Period. They did more than their part. Any hint to this being on any other unit besides the defense is pretty ridiculous.
I'm absolutely not disagreing with you. More of a post out of frustration I suppose. When we punted, this result almost felt inevitable.
None of our linebackers consistently keep their assignments. They don’t fill gaps and they don’t break down when they tackle in the open field so they whif on a bunch of tackles.
The whif on 4th and 11 was back breaking. Not calling the name of the DB because he's a hard nosed ball player, but that's a perfect example of not breaking down to make a tackle. Just needed to slow the receiver down instead of trying to hit him. I saw several blitzes where we over pursue and lose containment. Just bad fundamentals it seems.
They played with good effort outside of the opening drive. But something is off on that side of the ball. We win by 2 scores if we had could cover. Replacing 2 draft picks wasn’t going to be easy but OCs are scheming our secondary to death this year.
