Dealing with frustration after losing key commits.

I don't think he's wrong here. BUT, that being said, the same rules need to apply to the schools. If you accept a commitment then you have to take that player. No telling them a week from signing day that you no longer have a spot for him.

Just think it's humorous to hear him complaining about something that coaches have been dealing with for decades.

It's not humorous if you could see it coming. He's not a serious coach.
We'll see.

He's just breaking into P5 coaching at 56 years old. Does he have it in him to shmooze kids and their parents and convince them to come play for him? Does he think kids will come play for him based on him being Deion? P5 recruiting is an entirely different beast than when he was Jackson State. One or two players, one of whom was his son, was enough to make a difference there. That won't work at the P5 level.

I don't disagree with him in principle about kids being committed and still taking visits, but that's just the nature of how it's always been and coaches have had to roll with it. It's useless for a coach to complain about it.

Nothing is signed until it's signed. Committment just like in business; nothing is official without the signature. If all of you committed to a job offer but another one came and offered that was better pay and a better fit, you'd all back off your commitment and take it. That's how all of your companies and you would operate, why shouldn't the NCAA? I'm a Deion fan but wrong here.

Paul Johnson at GT used to pull scholarship offers if a recruit went on any other visits after he committed. He got fired.

What is the irony of this complaint when he told several Buffs players to look elsewhere because they didn’t fit into his plan. I get they may not have been the caliber he wanted, but I’ll guarantee most would have happily accepted whatever work he gave them if he gave them the opportunity.

And don’t give me the it is a different thing mess.

Dabo used to not permit committed recruits to take other visits. Not sure if that’s still the case. For a time it made an offer from Clemson like a golden ticket. Added prestige bc you knew they weren’t screwing around if they offered you.

Welcome to Prime time college football Deion.lol I don't see Deion being a P5 coach for long.

I'll reserve judgment until after the portal cycle. He's got a legit Heisman candidate coming back at QB, and has the ability (probably more than any other coach in America) to pull kids in from the portal. Kids should be flocking to Boulder. "Losing" these high schoolers isn't a huge deal because when they transfer in a year or two, they'll probably end up on his team anyway (with someone else doing the hard work of developing them).

It really is this simple.
Same thing happened to me, and it was within the same company.
