A former player has killed three people and injured others. Those killed are current football players and others injured are also current players. Prayers for all players, coaches and families of these players. The suspect has yet to be caught.

There are words coming out that because of this UVa will cancel the rest of their season. NOT confirmed but is being discussed. Rough start to Tony Elliots coaching career and this is NOT what a coach needs to deal with and I cant remember when a coach has had to deal with multiple of his players killed by one former player he probably didnt know. This humbles you when you worry about a bad season or if a player or coach isnt meeting your expectations, this stuff puts that in perspective for sure.

Not sure what I would do here, but wouldn't blame them for cancelling the last two games.

Kids? I'm becoming desensitized, like nothing shocks me anymore.
It's crazy and sad, not too long ago the Columbine and VT shootings used to be some of the biggest stories of the year. Sadly in a few weeks this will probably be forgotten. Even the shooting at USC a few years ago barely made it past the local news. The normalization of this terrifying.

Columbia police arrested a 15 year old today for shooting someone. The Police Chief said the kid didn’t understand what the big deal was. How’s that for desensitized?

Seems the shooter shocked his family & friends with his actions.
Likely some bullying/hazing that went on for a time and happened again on a bus returning to the UVA campus.

Horrible outcome, but looks like they picked on the wrong guy. 😲

Except the killer was the one suspected of hazing someone and one of the players he killed was asleep. According to an eyewitness the victims didn't even talk to the killer during the trip. Regardless even if they had done something to him, killing them is not the answer!

Virginia Tech would be upset, they want to keep that home winning streak over UVA going(since 1998).
The Virginia Tech massacre was April 16, 2007. My daughter was on campus that day and was about to go through the building the shooter was in and was told not to. No, I don’t think VT would have any trouble with UVa canceling their season.
