Please tell me this isn't so. Sure have missed his tackling the 2nd half.
Beamer said he was not injured. That it was an internal issue and he was not going to discuss it. The State newspaper says he had told them he was only playing first half…he actually went to the locker room mid third quarter.

Literally the definition of a quitter. He should never be welcomed back. Ever. Worse than the full game quitters like Kennard & Sanders.

Back in the old days you created a better life for yourself by playing for old State U and then enjoying the adoring appreciative alumni network.Apparently that doesn’t play into it any more.

Which is sad bc it actually does still play, the players just dont see it. In this state, if you played for Clemson or USC, especially if you were a recognizable one, you have a leg up in job interviews for life!

It is, and no. It's over. I'm not being facetious either. I will say this again - it is a cultural issue that runs much deeper than football.....

College Football has been successfully ruined. It was planned and executed perfectly.
Yep. It’s out of control and it’s off the rails.

Any word on if he had an injury or anything? Or do we know he quit mid game?

Weird.

That Miami qb apparently did it to hit some TD record. This?

Weird to allow it if the coaches knew ahead of time.
The Miami qb should be stripped of stats from that game and kicked off the team and kicked out of school and his degree should be revoked.

Nick should have all his stats wiped, kicked off the team, ---- walk home , and all credits towards his degree should be revoked. These quitters should never be allowed to play teams sports ever again. Ever. At anything.

What I heard on the radio was that he said his coach was aware of it ahead of time (but didn't say if that coach was Beamer). It certainly wasn't made public in advance.

Based on how Beamer has handled/viewed these types of things in the past, I can't imagine he would have agreed to it, which would explain the "internal matter" comment and lack of elaboration.

Cam Ward is going to be the NFL draft, from all accounts going quite high, so there is no kicking him off the team, his stats are recorded as an eligible player by the NCAA, so there is no option of removing his statistics. This his third school so if he has course credits toward a degree that can not be taken away.

No one likes the trend, but realistically the only option available would be if indeed the players notified the coach ahead of time, then the coach could have option of playing him. Aside from that I can't think of any other options available

For now, hate to say it, but wbb is somehow still a college feel. I am sure that will go away eventually

I think that right now, with NIL, there is more money in college WBB than the WNBA for everyone not named Caitlin Clark. If the WNBA gets smart and stops trying to clobber their golden goose (on and off the court), that could change in the next couple of years as all of the players contracts will increase.

He did not even remain on the field. Someone said he went to the locker room mid-third quarter!

I think from one report I saw, Beamer might have sent him to the locker room. But I doubt anyone will say definitively.

There are forces at work there that have not, will not, and cannot be mollified while Caitlin is in the limelight.

Our head coach required him to, which was the correct call. If you quit on your team, you shouldn't be on the sideline. Emmanwori is thinking selfishly now, but a day will come later in life where he'll tremendously regret this horrendously selfish decision. I never want to see him honored in any way at any future football game. His quitting could arguably cost us that game. His ability to tackle & help stop opponents' run game was tremendously absent in that 4th qtr. Illinois wouldn't have had the success running the ball had Emmanwori been in there.

It shows me the we got players with no loyalty to teams only money now. They don't love their god given talent ,only money that incantation provide..

I shouldn’t be this way, but I just want him,a week before the draft, to step off a curb and tear his Achilles and never play a down in the NFL, then come back to Columbia looking for a job.

I had just mentioned to my wife that morning that he was the only one who had shown maturity and commitment by playing.

Fans should feel free to speculate on such "internal matters" then. What's he going to do, correct the record? 😄

If true that is horribly disappointing. You’re supposed to be one of the team leaders yet you sit out when the game is on the line with so much at stake? How in the hell do you do that to your teammates, coaches and fans? I don’t know what’s worse- sitting out the whole game or this. At least they can prepare someone else to play so probably this. Any one of those guys playing could have made a difference in the outcome. How do we get more D. Knights who believe in “finish what you started.”

I don’t understand sitting out the 2nd half.At least it appears the Miami quarterback was playing to set some record which he did. What purpose did Nick playing a half serve.
