Let me clarify. I’m not talking about the best team your kid qualified to be on. Or the best travel team in the state. Other countries have organized training academies to develop their elite talent from across the country. The best kids compete against each other everyday. The US has several of these type training academies made up of players from all over the country. Some affiliated with European pro teams, some affiliated with US based organizations. These are all hooked up with prep schools here because the kids stay there full time and go to school. The cheapest of these programs are $60k/year after the average scholarship. In other countries, kids good enough to be in these programs don’t pay anything, so they get the best kids, not just the best rich kids. That’s why they put out better teams than the US.
reference? bc i still think you're talking out of your @SS. feel free to just post a reference for the 60k one that is "on the low end".
So it’s 75,000 for a private school (college prep), with resort style dorms, onsite prepped meals, pools, and entertainment hall and they offer scholarship opportunities. It’s not like a travel ball team. For reference IMG is 85,000 a year.Call them. I tried to give you the cliff notes. I’m sorry your kid didn’t get invited to try out. These type programs exist in other countries and the kids good enough to be accepted don’t pay anything. They start training the best in their countries by playing them against each other in practice from early ages. That doesn’t happen in the US, unless it’s in a program like this, for $60k+.Home

That’s what I said in this thread back on June 28. These type places are the only places in the US where the entire team is made up of elite talent, with elite coaching and training. The one i linked states all of their graduates go onto college scholarships or pro teams after graduation. I’m not aware of any travel teams in this area with talent like that. Other countries have these type setups for their elite talent and it costs the players nothing or very close to it. That’s why we get smoked internationally. So it’s 75,000 for a private school (college prep), with resort style dorms, onsite prepped meals, pools, and entertainment hall and they offer scholarship opportunities. None of the athletes pay that to go to those academies. They all get 75% scholarship minimum. IMG and Barca Academy in Phoenix are both like this. They do advertise those prices but I know first hand that isn’t what’s actually paid by the athletes. Even MLS Academy athletes (not MLSNext) have their tuitions paid. I know not quite the same but nonetheless you’re correct. Good training isn’t cheap at all. I know just training alone is over $2,000 a year for our ECNL team, not to mention additional team fees, uniforms, private training etc. It gets tough. More and more organizations are starting up their own schooling and training. Several in Texas, so we are getting there. That’s what I said in this thread back on June 28. not according to the parents I talked to who went through the process. Barca offered them enough scholarships to bring the cost to $60k, and told them that was the average scholarship. That was the cheapest of the places. Yall can call these places and see if your kid can go to the tryouts, although if your kid has to apply to tryout, he ain’t making it. I have no more info to pass along. If your kid gets invited and makes the team, please set me straight. God bless.None of the athletes pay that to go to those academies.
