I've often thought this would be better too. It's the way we did it in high school. They tried 'regional' tournaments for a while but then went back to best of 3 series.Absolutely. This is how baseball postseason should be played instead of the double elimination tournament bull****. Straight up best 2 of 3 & let’s see who’s better.
1 bad inning in Omaha in general and especially the finals will usually cost you a Dub!Or you could lose game one & then win two and three for the championship. Worked for us four years ago.
I like the current format. A double elimination round. Then a 2 out of 3 series. Then repeat the process again in Omaha. The national champion has to be able to be good enough to navigate both formats. It has to have elite pitching, but also has to have some depth and can’t just rely on riding two or three arms all the way to a title.Absolutely. Regardless CC has three on staff, that has won 10 plus games this season.Coastal Carolina hasn’t won a title yet. If they do, then I suspect you could look at the box score and at least 4 or 5 pitchers threw meaningful innings in winning postseason efforts this year. And if not, then they would be the rare exception.
