I was a D1 football player waaaay back. Recruited pretty hard by all schools in the SEC and ACC. I had to take both. I did much better on the ACT. I was just before prop 48. Certainly back in the 80's it was a much lower threshold to gain acceptance if you were an athlete virtually everywhere, not so sure about today.
