Yes, he was a really solid player. Also had a good glove.I came across his name today and I remembered having a lot of his baseball cards as a kid (mom threw them all out and I never forgave her for it, but I digress). So I looked up his stats. He had more than 2,000 hits and played in the majors for 19 years, that's a nice career! View attachment 812497

If I remember correctly, Taylor made a great play to take away a hit in Jim Bunning's perfect game against the Mets.
I think I had a bat that I got at Bat Day at Connie Mack that had Taylor's name on it. (You had no control over which player's signature was on the bat -- they just handed them out from a box at the turnstile.)
He was a nice player for the Fightins.
Imagine giving bat handouts today. That’s almost as crazy as…..If I remember correctly, Taylor made a great play to take away a hit in Jim Bunning's perfect game against the Mets.

I have an Indians bat from a bay day probably from the mid-sixties.
That is correct. Anyone remember the plays of Wine and Rojas?I had to look it up. I couldn't remember if he was before or after Cookie Rojas. It appears that they were on the same team for about 10 years. I remembered them both as second basemen
