Does a division champ with a losing record really deserve to go the playoffs let alone host a 1st round game?

NFC South and possibly the AFC South will have a division Champ with a losing record this year as the #4 seed. In the playoffs hosting a wildcard opponent with at least 3-4 more wins during the season than them. I really feel like put the top 7 teams in record wise regardless of division, if your division didn't make the cut then too bad!

You have to let division winners because the schedules aren’t balanced. But I definitely agree it would make sense to put in division winners, and wild card teams and then re-seed.

But at the same time, the NFL playoffs aren’t broken. No need to fix them. This has happened before. Want a home game? Go win your division.
