in all the years we've being doing this, I don't even remember an anti-Gene username like that. There was the infamous Reve Stoberson, but that was an obvious satire.

"Reve Stoberson"lol whoever came up with that one gets mad props.I met the guy before after 15mins of talking with Robertson I really believe the guy thinks he has a major hand in MSU signing and offering football players.One look at the guy showed it was highly unlikely he had ever played a sport before much less had a hand in a SEC program scouting football players.

From the opinion of a non-MSU fan that posts on this board often, I don't think this board breeds negativity like you say it does. You have a handful of posters, very few actually, that whine and complain about everything. And typically when those posters are whining and complaining about things that don't deserve complaints, they get put in their place by the majority of posters here.

The reason this board has seemed so negative over recent years is because there have been a lot of reasons to be negative about MSU sports. Before this football season, there were 6 straight losing football seasons. My team is in the middle of 4 straight, so I know what it feels like. It's natural to have negative thoughts during that type of losing span. With baseball, Polk has put up mediocre teams recently that for the most part haven't really even threatened to be regional hosts. That's sub-standard for MSU baseball, so there has been reason to complain. And before this season, Stansbury had missed the NCAA tourney 2 years in a row with teams that had the expectation of making the NCAA tourney.

All those things are reasons to feel negatively, and therefore people on this board have been negative. During the run to Omaha, during the winning football season this past year, and during your basketball team's SEC run, this board was about as positive as you could be about those MSU teams. The way I see it, most posters here are just realistic. When there is reason to be upset, they are upset. When there is reason to be positive about MSU, they are positive. If Raffo was hired and took MSU to just one CWS title, it would buy him a whole lot of credit on this board for a long time as long as he consistently put up at least good teams along the way.
