Birds.

Let's see how things are after the Dec. 24th game between the two teams.
I hate Dallas but when you get into those low scoring slugfest playoff games where you need the D to continually make big stops- I just don’t know.

The Eagles D is concerning, gang. They’re moving into liability territory. Hopefully getting Davis and others backs improves things.
Last week it was the goedert-less offense that was the end of the world….this week the defense is liability. Granted besides the kicker, special teams are bad, but how the hell are they 10-1 with a bad offense and bad defense????? The answer is they have. Very good offense and a very good defense overall and compared to the rest of the league. No matter how much they suck they are top 2-3 in the league and I would take the eagles at home in the playoffs over the ******* cowboys any time.

Are there things about the Birds that concern me? Sure. But with the exception of the game against Washington, the Birds have shown an amazing resiliency. It's been several weeks since all cylinders were firing (and technically, I don't think their KO and punt return, or KO and punt coverage units have done well all season), but they keep excelling in one aspect of the game that enables them to get the job done.

Can they beat San Fran? Can they beat the Vikings again? Who knows. CJF gets some grief for his 1-0 mentality, but I think he's correct. Stay focused on the game in front of you. If you do that, and take care of business, things will go well.

Injuries are a concern. On the O, I hope they get Goedert back in a few weeks, as he's a big loss. And hopefully they can get A.J. Brown back to how he was playing earlier this season. On D, Davis should be back at DT in a week or 2. I hope CJGJ is okay, and that Maddox can return to playing CB against the slot.

The offense was great tonight. They opened things back up with Hurts RPOs and it made a huge difference for the offense. This Eagles offense is super dangerous.

The D was bad tonight. There’s no sugar coating it, but this team’s strengths are on offense. I’ll give the special teams a pass.

At 10-1, they’re in good shape. I actually like how they match up against a one-dimensional Tennessee team. Think AJ Brown will be pumped up?

Win next week and I think they’ll win the division and get the bye week. I like them against the Saints, Bears and Giants x2.

The game in Dallas may not mean all that much by Dec 24, esp if Dallas drops another game. Don’t look past a tricky road game @ Jax for Dallas the week prior.

CJGJ would be a big loss if he’s out for an extended period. I liked what I saw from Blankenship, when he hits the opponent goes backwards, but I think he was exposed on the Watson TD, took a really bad angle and didn’t have the speed to make up for it. He can fill a role, but there’s a reason he hasn’t played until tonight.

And that's a wrap. Birds win, 40-33.

Crazy game. Not at all what I expected. But as I mentioned before the game, this matchup scared me.

Fly, Eagles, Fly

I saw enough of Jordan Love in a few drives to know that I didn't want to see him anymore last night. I did not want to game to come down to Jordan Love and 2 mins left to win the game. He looked very good.

I am not convinced about our defensive scheme. It seems we are a 2 gap, reading D up front. No matter who plays in that scheme, we are getting knocked off the ball. the seconday base coverage seems soft, and thats why every team we play hits the quick slant, as our corners are too far off. This defense works great if the Eagles have a 28 point lead or something, but if teams are patience, and are willing to take 4-5-6 yds per carry, they can eat clock and score. Its tough to knock a team off 'schedule' doing this, imo. The game has changed. its hard to complain when you are 10-1 though!!!

I don't think there are many if any CB/S's who have the speed to catch up to Watson. Angle was evertyhing there. He'll learn. this was his first time playing in the league. i'm happy with how he played.

The Commanders have really turned it around. Chase Young back next week. They got lucky yesterday, they really should have lost, but they got unlucky against the Vikings.
Rivera is a very good coach. Credit to him and that team for holding it together during a rough start.

They now play two straight (bye in between) against the Giants. They have a real shot to get to 9-5.

Yeah, I was really down on Rivera earlier in the season. Glad to be wrong.

Their dline is legit. Very good defense and offense is starting to come around.
Heinecke isn’t a world beater, but he seems to avoid the huge mistakes and negative plays more than Wentz. That’s important with their defense. Just don’t lose games on offense and they’ll have a shot just about every week.

Henicke is good for two craptastic plays a game, guaranteed. He lost the Vikings game, he’d say that himself. But I’d keep him in over CW.

well the word on the street is, NFL looking to take wins away from the Eagles. Henicke should have played the first game vs the Eagles, and therefor a WTF win. Same thing with Dallas, the Eagles win does not count as Dak was out injured. Theres a couple more they will look into as well. Certainly the Vikes game was a fluke so give them the win as well.
