So I had a very busy day, and a call @ 7 am caused it to become even more hectic. I only got to watch about 10 - 15 minutes of the game (when I was posting updates earlier in the thread). However, I did DVR it, and just got to watch it. I skipped the 1st half, as the end of the 1st and the very beginning of the 2nd half are what I watched in real time, and thus didn't want to go over the dreadful 1st half.
The 2nd half was far more entertaining, and the ending was great (from an Eagles' perspective).
The negative:
- AJ Brown with back-to-back sub-par games
- not a lot of production from the TEs
- Matt Ryan, when he had time, did cause problems for the Birds' secondary
The enjoyable:
- Hurts finally got things rolling in the 2nd half, and especially on the final drive
- the new DTs played more than I expected, and better than I expected
- the Birds causing the fumble, and recovering, when Jonathan Taylor was moving the entire pile @ 10 yards
- the TD pass to Quez Watkins. It was one of Hurts' better passes on the day
If I had watched the entire game in real time, I probably would have been as frustrated as some of you appeared to be when I read over the earlier posts in this thread. By missing most of the 1st half, and fast forwarding through all the commercials in the 2nd half, it was an enjoyable game to watch.
It wasn't their prettiest win, or their most dominant performance on either side of the ball. But a win is a win, and the Birds are 9-1.
