Gainwell is "known" as a good blocking back. 3rd & long, and the Saints put 3 rushers on the right side. Gainwell doesn't touch 1 of them as Hurts gets sacked. smh

I understand that and think extending Hurts was the right call. This is the downside. You get a guy for top dollar who is just ok.

I do think the contract structure may haunt them. Lots of dead money and years on the back end. That only works if they continue extending him.

Jimmy Johnson made a good point about Sirianni and the Eagles on the halftime show. He said (paraphrasing)- ‘they’re so busy trying to do something special they’re missing what’s right in front of them. They need to play the game like it’s supposed to be played’.
