Anyone have one and want to share their experience?

I’m considering buying an electric, single stage snowblower. It would be used for my deck and patios. I have a gas-powered unit for the large driveway and sidewalk, but am looking for something to help me clear the deck and patio areas. I’ve looked on-line and read all the reviews. I tend to read the one-star reviews to see what problems people have. There are some crappy reviews so I can’t tell if it is the exception or the rule. The 5-starts surely dominate w/r/t 1-star (qty-wise)

I don’t want an electric snow shovel because you can’t direct the snow except straight ahead. The corded model are generally <$200. I don’t think I’d mind that. I do have an outlet on the deck. Cordless run around $500 and I’m not sure i want to spend that much.

I live in southeast PA. We don’t get a ton of snow. When we do, I always like to keep the deck clear (trex). We do get some wet/heavy snows and i am aware that the electric models may struggle. The lighter weight will allow my to lift it up on the deck (5 steps)

Anyway, any stories good or base are welcomed. Thank You

Corded anything is almost always more powerful and cheaper than cordless. If you're going cordless stick to the brands with known better batteries and charging systems to avoid a giant paperweight or doorstop. Even a corded lesser known brand can provide decent power with above average life expectancy. Only you know your layout and whether a cord will get in the way, but if it doesn't I'd lean that way unless you want to go higher end.

I lived in southeast PA most of my life... then I moved to FL and don't worry about snowblowers anymore ;)
