After looking at those projections, you're damaged goods if you don't at least come out after your Soph year. The whole first round is fr/so.

That and the fact that this is one of the thinnest NBA drafts in years. After Rose, Beasley, and Mayo, it's slim pickens. Rose is the clear number 1 player coming out. In past drafts he would be, maybe, a top 5 pick.

Beasley is the situational pick because the Bulls got the number 1 pick last night. They need Beasley over Rose because of need. The Bulls had a 1.9% chance of getting the number 1 pick and they got it. Basically any other team in the lottery that got the number 1 pick would have gotten Rose.

You don't drop in the draft if you don't come out early, you were never good enough to be a 1st round pick.</p>

otherwise the pros find stuff wrong with you.. case in point, Joakim Noah.. had he gone pro after their first championship, he would've gone in the top 3 most likely. He ended up going 9th (which was still too high). Terrence Morris (Maryland) is another good example. He could've been a top 10 pick after his sophomore year, he went back to school, and ended up eventually being drafted in the 2nd round. Now he's playing in Israel or somewhere.

that report is three weeks old. Or at least that's when it was last updated. It might even be older than that. Jamont's stock forecast is somewhere in the middle of the second round, and isn't showing signs of dropping, meaning there's a good chance somebody drafts him. With that information at hand, I wouldn't expect Jamont to give State another thought.

I'd love to be wrong, but Jamont, by all accounts, is gone.

Anyone notice the ages of these players..

OJ Mayo 20 yr old Fr.
Dorsey 24 yr old Sr.
(Not the smartest two apples, are they?)
But OJ is about to be Rich *****, and Dorsey is going to Slap his *****..

I was 21 yrs old when I graduated college..

Beasley is a better player and any team that took Rose over him would regret it. Rose is not a bad consolation by any stretch, but Beasley is the better pick.

just an analysis of his prospects and their thoughts on them. Most articles that inteview him or someone more familar with the program reflect that he is more inclined to remain in the draft. I truly wish he would return but I'm not even really getting my hopes up.

Granted his return would give us at least two All SEC level players. In the three games without Rhodes last year Varnado did fine when he started along with Hansborough, Gordon, Stewart and Turner. If he can continue to develop the baby hook and gain some strength he could be a real force on offense as he gets so high off the floor with his shot. If Gordon was able to play a T Bowers type role by starting at PG and sliding to the wing when Bost comes in then we have the potential for another West or even overall title.

However if (and most likely when) Gordon does not return I could see us struggling to get Varnado the ball unless Bost comes in on fire.

and here i thought ive heard over and over and over again from the analystys and pundits that this is a very deep draft for the PG/SG spots.

Rose isnt the clear #1. Beasley isnt the clear #1 either. since they are different players, the team that drafts first will figure out who they want/need more to help their lineup.
