That is refreshing to see. You often hear people in media talking about "keeping somebody in our thoughts and prayers" which can be a somewhat empty statement, but I don't think I've ever seen a broadcaster follow through on-air. Good for him.

Somewhat off topic, but I've always wondered how it's comforting to say "you're in our thoughts."

This, along with praying 'to' the person that is the subject of the prayer. Why would you pray to that person, rather than 'for' him/her and the person's friends and family. It's especially odd when the person is deceased.

What I also appreciate from this is that his fellow panelists both bowed their heads and joined him in prayer ... it is easy to say but what Dan did publicly there was spot on ... I would love it if our political leaders would pray publicly and testify of their faith and dependence on Yaweh ....

I'm good with it. I'm a Christ believer anyway. But regardless of where a person is theologically, I think we all encounter times when things are simply out of control and out of our hands. At those times, when we feel helpless and a situation is dire, we all want to find help someplace, whether we verbalize it or not and even if we would like to hide it. What this man did speaks to that need. It says that it's OK not to have all the answers and remedies.

I’ve got zero issues with what was prayed. It’s every thought that each of us have for the young man. ESPN has turned so woke and PC, I only watch the sporting events now. I hope there’s no repercussions levied here.
