So, I'm trying to stay awake...
Consider all factors.

I'm guessing Vandy wins, because who really hates them. It'll be interesting to see the breakdown. Ole Miss will get some votes due to the Rebel Bruiser types.

I don't see why people like them. Sure they're underdogs and all that in football, but I have no sympathy for them. They want to pretend they are above sports, and they're above the rest of the league. That's fine. You deserve to lose all the time if that's the attitude you want to take.

Unfortunately my team has found a way to lose to them too much, but I still think their fans deserve to lose more than any fanbase out there, since they're so much better than caring about sports.

ETA: I didn't vote in the poll, but no matter which division you're in, you couldn't have your favorite SEC team outside of your school be anyone in your division. I wouldn't understand that. Familiarity breeds contempt, and any team you play every year in football, twice a year in basketball, and every year in baseball should trump the teams that rotate off occasionally for football and baseball and the teams you only play once a year in basketball in terms of your hate level.

If I had to vote for a 2nd favorite SEC team, it would definitely be an East team, and it would have to be one that's far away from people I interact with. I don't like Florida because I don't think their people fit in with the SEC type of fans, much like Arkansas to me. I can't do Vandy (reason above). I can't do UT. I live too close to them. Therefore, that leaves Kentucky, South Carolina, and Georgia. I hate Kentucky because I hate any school that thinks football isn't the most important sport. That leaves South Carolina and Georgia, so I guess those two are about equal for me in terms of which one I have the least hate for out of the rest of the SEC.

I wouldn't say any of them are my favorite team outside of my own, but they're my least hated.

at one time or another, but I guess I would have to say that it's a three way tie for the least amount of times I've thought that about a school. It's between Georgia, SC, and Vandy, and I honestly don't think I can go with Vandy due to the Shan Foster superman performance. With South Carolina, I still consider the 3rd string QB touchdown pass to be the start of the downfall of 2001. With Georgia, I'm not sure that I can think of any obvious moment where I wanted horrible things to happen to them. Plus, they do have some smokin' hot women. I think I've gotta go with Georgia.

simply because I'm a graduate student there. But they occupy a very small place in my affections and attention.<div>
</div><div>I have on-the-whole happy feelings about aTm. I know a ton oflikableAggies from the military and I went to a conference there where they treated us like kings and long-lost cousins.</div>

So as of now, it's a 3 way tie between Vandy (figured), Georgia (I guess we just like bulldogs), and LSU...

LSU voters, please explain. I can't even fathom this.

Yeah, where is the f*** them all option.
Seriously I could not care less about any school in the SEC but State. If for some reason State ceased to play sports, I would go with FSU. Really I would do alot more hunting and fishing but if I had to pick a team...

Grew up in LA and followed the local team, LSU. My mother had family that coached and played ball at State so followed them too. Ended up going to State so pretty much dumped LSU but don't dislike them as much as the rest

and I know a lot of LSU fans. They have more than their share of ******** but overall get a bum rap. If you go to an LSU game looking to drink, have a good time, drink, respectfully cheer for your team, drink, and be willing to take some **** then you will have a blast. I have never been to a LSU game where I didn't have a good time.

I put every team in the East over Bama, but personally I have more hate for LSU Arky Barn and tsun based on their fans alone.

I really dont get the LSU love, their fans are terrible and they make it a point to crush us every year. Ditto with Arky with the exception of crushing us (sometimes) and 2008

born an raised in south Louisiana and grew up an LSU fan (although my mom and dad, an LSU grad, are from the Delta--Cleveland). Was an LSU fan before I went to graduate school at State. Choose State over LSU because they gave me more money and because I had several relatives still in Mississippi. When I first arrived at State I remember seeing a shirt that said something like "If you can't run with the big dawgs then stay under the porch" and just laughed out loud because most SEC schools never needed to stay under the porch. I never thought much of State until I went to school there but I soon became a devoted fan and I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Starkville. Might have to retire there. I even hated LSU for a while because of how I was treated in my State garb at Tiger stadium. I returned to south Louisiana after graduation, married a woman with two high-powered LSU degrees (she's originally from Arkansas so I guess Arkansas is my third favorite), and decided to cheer for LSU as my second favorite team. LSU fans takes a lot of shite on here, much of it deserved, but most of my friends and neighbors in south Louisiana are LSU fans and they're pretty cool.

I regularly bump into State grads in Cajun country.

Only reason I can think of is that people feel sorry for them. Hell, even their OWN fans don't like them. A Bear friend of mine said that with a new coach, supposedly new excitement, a 2-0 record, they still had several thousand empty seats for their game against UM.</p>

I can't recall if the decision to ban cowbells was unanimous or if we had any support. If so, the supporting university can have my vote. If not, $%+@ 'em all.
