Louisiana State University
Virginia Tech
University of Washington
Washington State
Texas Christian University

RUMORED HOT SEATS

University of Miami, FL

Damn it. All of our bitching and Franklin’s seat isn’t hot yet? 😞

I'm sure there will be many more openings as the season concludes, but I doubt if any of the currently rumored hot seats do come open, with the exception of Florida.
Interestingly, it would be a real shock if any jobs come open in the Big Ten, even though every other major conference already has at least one, and will probably end up with multiple.

LSU in the SEC, TCU and Texas Tech in the Big Twelve, USC, Washington State and Washington in the Pac12, Virginia Tech in the ACC.
Florida in the SEC - even with Dan Mullen due a $12 million buyout, Duke in the ACC, would both probably surprise if they didn't move on. Geoff Collins at Georgia Tech always seems to get mentioned, but he is relatively cheap on salary to keep him, relatively expensive to buy out if they fire him, and hasn't done so poorly that Georgia Tech is likely to move on, I wouldn't think.

"Best Fit, Right Hire" from 247's Brandon Marcello...

LSU

Best Fit: Jimbo Fisher
Right Hire: Billy Napier

USC

Best Fit: James Franklin
Right Hire: Dave Aranda

"Aranda might be a big enough splash for the USC faithful but the felling here is James Franklin is the desired hire and a man who better fits the scene."

TCU

Best Fit: Jeff Traylor or Sonny Dykes
Right Hire: Jay Norvell

Washington

Best Fit: Christ Peterson or Kalani Sitake
Right Hire: Kalani Sitake

Washington State

Best Fit: Jeff Banks
Right Hire: Joe Moorhead

I cannot believe Dino Babers is still not on the hot seat. He has had one good year, and the rest below .500.

Giving Riley that money is one thing. He doesn't have a national title, but he's at least made the playoff. A bit much, but pulling him is potentially tough.

Tucker?

Apologies, but that is INSANE.

Texas would be making a big mistake getting rid of Sarkisian in his first year. He should be given at least 3 years to try for that elusive undefeated season. He has a solid recruiting class coming in 2021 and rumors have it that next year it will be even better.

That's a cool break down. If only they could show the assistant coaches/strength trainers/recruiters they could pull with them to actually do the dirty work. 😉

Who would on the current staff would go to USC with CJF if that's the move?

Can you imagine paying someone nearly 10 million per year without ever winning a NC or playing in a playoff game. Where are these schools getting the money to pay these salaries?

Or Mel Tucker….

He front loaded two years of transfers, good strategy , Walker at the beginning of the season was considered
their fourth best pick up , sort of like Saquon. I believe with Tucker like Franklin other staffs will follow his recruiting and transfer moves.
Riley is a good coach in a weak conference, moving to the SEC irregardless is a head scratcher. Money talks for both guys with limited success.

Okay, so Riley's hire at USC and Napier's hire at Florida really sets the dominos in motion.....

USC - Lincoln Riley
Florida - Billy Napier
LSU -
VT -
Oklahoma -
Washington -
Duke -
Temple -

Word on the street is Joe Moorhead is a top candidate for the - wait for it - Akron job.

I'm surprised Josh Gattis name hasn't turned up , could see him as a Duke coach as a next step, unless he's happy where he's at.

Just read an article where it listed Seider and Trautwein as possible options to join the new UF staff. I guess I can see that, but I can also see Seeder staying put if he wants to coach Singleton.

I was not aware Duke and Temple became open. Did that happen today?

Also, how the hell does Dino Babers keep his job?

This is a very interesting coaching off season. The ND speculation on new coaches should be interesting
