Washington in the 9th slot seems a tad weak for a playoff team.

we'll see how they do, average wise, after 3-5 years. I think they'll have to average higher than 9th to be competitive with the top B1G teams

a few random observations:
- interesting that 3 of the Pac teams that joined the B1G finished in the top 10
- had not Oregon and USC joined the B1G, Nebraska would have finished 4th. I think that's higher than they've generally been since they joined the B1G (caveat that I don't have the data in front of me to confirm or to disprove my observation)
- coaching changes can explain NW, Indy, and MSU. I guess coaching uncertainty also explains UCLA's low finish. Locks doesn't have any of those excuses at MD
- with the elimination of the divisions, I think the addition of the 4 Pac teams make it that much more unlikely that NW, Indy, MD, and Rutgers get a sniff of the B1G Championship game
- I almost lumped MSU in the previous group, but their past competitiveness led me to decide to wait a few years before lumping them with that group of schools

Ranked "as high" as 15th nationally. OK, but hardly worthy of celebration.

Rankings by latte drining avacado toast eating "experts" who never played a down of organized football.

If you come across such experts, ask them what differentiates the #54th ranked running back with the #53rd.

Any thoughts on Penn State's class?

In my view, it seems like a typical PSU class in terms of 4 stars and 3 stars make up but with some more emphasis on a few things:

1) Ceiling- many of the players we are bringing in are very high ceiling guys but also carry higher risk. An example is that the OTs seem to have the frame and great athleticism but not the bulk and will need a couple of years to pan out likely. I do think Cousins is a ready from day 1 guy and may get a look at OC where there is a depth issue IMO. But none of the WRs are really highly rated or likely day 1 ready (maybe Gonzalez?) unless Martin plays a WR role in the mold of Debo Samuel. Reynolds is a very high ceiling but will likely have a couple of years to fill out before needed.

2) Both OL and DL are being restocked for down the road. May not be a lot of guys burning that redshirt this year on the lines but they have numbers and high ceilings. Really like Andrews on the DL but guys like Cunningham and Cook could be boom or bust. Raw talent and athleticism is there but a question mark thus far. Gilliam could be another DT in the making or stick on the edge. Harvey and Williams look like nice DEs down the line although there may be an opportunity for Harvey (close enough size) to get early depth reps.

3) The secondary reinforcements are on the way and a couple of those guys could be in the 2 deep right away.

Here you go Tom. I figure you'd like this one. 🤣

You know there are some miserable unhappy posters here, but for anger, despair, rage, conspiracy, depression, delusion and the World is against us there’s no place like the Lair, or wherever Panther fans meet in vent their spleens.

It's strange that it says head coach Bill O'Brien. He recruited a lot of those guys but not all for sure.

Trace McSorley and Grant Haley are two obvious ones brought in by CJF. There were several other Vandy recruits who Franklin flipped.
Nine or ten were Franklin recruits, either from the class he was recruiting at Vandy or directly. There were one or two, most notably Troy Vincent Jr., who O'Brien recruited and from whom Franklin pulled offers.

It appears Troy finished his career at Townson in 2019 playing 10 games on special teams.

I agree 15rh isn'r worthy of celebration....however, there is zero credit for recruiting for need. PSU needed to recruit OL and DL....they did both. They needed to recruit WR, and i like the 3 they brought in. So the arbitrary values assigned to players added up to 15th...i feel this class was a much better class based on what PSU needed.
