Buddy of mine is in Clearwater as we speak. Goes down every year to spring training to see his beloved Phillies. Still went down even though they are shut down..he also goes to 20 home games every year

I used to have an office less than a mile from Spectrum Field and every damn spring training game let out right before I left work, making it bumper to bumper slow traffic the whole way across the causeway. It's busy season and I'm working my *** off and can't even go home and there's drunk Philly fans everywhere having so much fun. Used to drive me crazy.

That is a great wonderful little stadium though. You can see a minor league game there sit at the bar beside 3rd base and drink beer and eat Delco's cheese steaks all for about the price of a bag of peanuts at a major league game.

I'm with you. I don't need to see pitchers at the plate flailing at pitches anymore. As a lifelong NL fan, I welcome the change.
Why don’t we have designated fielders for those whose arms are weak? Or those slugs who can’t chase down balls in the alley? And why not have DHs for the Mario Mendoza’s of MLB.

I think the DH is one of the stupidest rules in all of sports

Only thing I don't like is bringing the DH to the National League. But ,I'm old and a baseball purist. Takes away from the game in my opinion, but I'll learn to live with it.
I agree. I think expanding all rosters by one or two players and eliminating the DH would have been better.

This brings up a football idea I’ve always had. Designated tackler on kickoffs. Let the kicker kickoff, then run directly off the field with a 12th man out there to take his place after the kick. Kickers tackling is as useless as pitchers hitting

Went over to the old stadium and threw the ball around a couple of days ago. Its humbling sitting in the dugouts there or throwing on the field knowing who has done the same out there.
