Thats awesome? Where are the fair grounds? I was through Monterey in April and wanted to look for them but man traffic was horrible so I just wanted to get back to Watsonville but I liked what I saw of Monterey and Carmel by the Sea and Big Sur were gorgeous. I thought Santa Cruz was a little skeezy but maybe that was just the area I drove through on the way to Half Moon Bay.
Inland from highway one next to the airport. They are just fairgrounds. Driving by them you would never think a famous concert happened there.

Pretty much have seen everyone on the list so far except Hendrix and Lennon. Hell, even saw Genesis with Peter Gabriel.

My one concert would be an evening of Miles Davis. Quartet, quintet, whatever. Have seen many bands, many singer songwriters, many jazz bands, many orchestras, many musicals, probably am lacking in Chamber music which I do love. Yes, I have been to the opera as well. Santa Fe, their summer season at their outdoor amphitheater is spectacular.

Well we went to see billy Joel, my 4th time seeing him, in Manhattan in December and that concert was awesome. It was better than the last two going back to the 90’s. I guess he was so out of his mind back then that he lost some of his greatness.

Not many concerts to see anymore like we went to in the 70’s ( I was too young) 80,s and 90,s and even seeing Michael Jackson in 2001 and prince 3 times in the 2000’s.

In the summer of ‘82, Springsteen performed something like 15 out of 16 consecutive Sundays at the Stone Pony. My brother was there for all of them (and his friend was responsible for the one Sunday night he didn’t play). I’d love to have seen any one of those nights as opposed to any concert in a major venue.

The Fairgrounds (where the Monterey Pop was held) is one block up from North Freemont Ave. Best way to get there, if you come back is.....you're on route one coming into the Peninsula, get off route 1 at Casa Verde and take a left at the stop sign. Stay on Casa Verde until it Ts. The Fairgrounds are right in front of you. It's about a mile from where you get off route 1. There is plenty of parking. They have a horse race betting place in the Fairgrounds. In August they have the Monterey Fair there. As you probably know Monterey is the capital of tourism, in the Summer. Anytime kids are out of school, traffic is a zoo. Best time to visit is mid September to mid October. The weather is the best and the kids are back in school. So are you living in Watsonville? How did you find yourself there?

Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii (the original) of course it would be rather empty, but special.

Was so mad to find out after the fact that David Gilmour had done another performance there. I would have flown to Italy for that.

No, I was doing the coast hwy from San Jose to Big Sur for my 60th. We stayed at the Pajara Dunes in Watsonville because it was right on the beach and close to all the things we wanted to go to. Really beautiful area. Had a great time.

YES at JFK Stadium June 12, 1976. Any Led Zeppelin show from the '71-'72 tour. Robert's voice was spot on and Jimmy was focused.
