LOL.

Fan reaction is mostly mixed it seems.

Wrote Kyle ”Trigger” Coroneos, editor of the Saving Country Music website, “The situation takes a significant step in a perilous direction where privileged entertainers can cancel events on a whim to serve their own purposes as opposed to making hard-working fans who’ve paid good money to see their favorite artists perform their priority. Massive stars like Eric Church are given opportunities average music fans can only dream of. Missing things like basketball games is a minor penance they have to pay to fulfill their performing commitments. … In 2020, Eric Church was named the CMA Entertainer of the Year in large part due to the type of precedent he set as a live performer. Hopefully, he’s not setting an example his peers will follow with this move. “

Bad PR guy. At least tell people you got a stomach virus or food poisoning.

But, hey, it's the truth. That's stark and different than usual.

Hard to believe he couldn’t have the game streamed on the big screen in the arena and let the fans in on his enjoyment of the game.

It could have turned out to be a real different celebration.

"Sorry I can't make it. I have something better to do."

Maybe that'll work the next time a relative/friend schedules a wedding for the day of a PSU home game.

That's been my excuse.

I have something better to do.

I feel bad for all those who are out money for non refundable hotel rooms or who bought tickets second hand that now may or may not get a refund.

I imagine I am the biggest EC fan on this forum, have seen him 25+ times, often twice in a weekend, often traveling to other cities ...
This would really piss me off if I had tickets for the show. But I would like to go to the make-up show, as I bet he plays for 4-5 hours.

Yeah but many people who had tickets won't be able to go the next time around so it would be cold comfort for them. Even with a refund they'd still be forfeiting the ridiculous handling fees and still be on the hook for any other expenses incurred. I admit I'm not a huge music fan and I've never heard of Eric Church but to an outsider like me, he sounds like a real douche for cancelling.

Dumbass move by him IMO. Plus, Duke vs unc is overrated, even if Coach L’s last game vs unc.

You had Smith vs K and later Williams vs K, and all those years Dick V overhyping.

Hopefully after K is gone this series stops being overhyped and most of those outside of Duke and Carolina fans won’t care. Yes, I do not like these teams.

He deserves some heat over this for sure from his fans this impacts.
