That’s some list. Avanti is late Billy Wilder, very good and Juliet Mills is insanely beautiful here. Much like Virginia Madsen in Sideways, Mills’s combination of loveliness and presence blows you away. Do yourself a favor and google her pics from this film.

I really like The Sure Thing, Rob Reiner’s second film (This is Spinal Tap). It really works, and has a great last line, “She wasn’t my type.” It has more than a passing similarity with Say Anything, a really really fine film, also starring John Cusack.

Interesting that you should say that -- since Penn State '66 with a Marketing and Sales career, I will not bore you with everything. However, founder and VP Marketing - www.yellowpages.com (website and company - purchased by ATT), research on 450 USA cities all over Google, my book, 'The Value of Three Words' .... is on Amazon and the movie script has been returned from London, UK, now revising dialogue for production company.

My work at age 80 is continuing to 'hang'in', be the best GOAT and PITA that I can be - with deference, of course.

Always liked Mccabe and Mrs Miller, underrated western, starring Warren Beatty and Julie Christy. Directed by Robert Altman.
Also The Maltese Falcon, a masterpiece of noir.

It took me a long time to appreciate McCabe and Mrs. Miller, it really does get better each time. The choice of weapon that fired the last gunshot in the movie, well that was just perfect, said everything.

I can watch the first act of Blade Runner 2049 weekly but I can never get through the whole thing. The first part freaks me out so badly I just can't get enough.

Everyone has already listed all the good movies. Did anyone mention Commando and Terminator and Predator? Alien and Aliens?

"Miracles from Heaven"-a heavy movie to get through with a good ending, based upon a true story.

No kidding. It was a crying shame that she, Virginia Madsen, didn’t win the Oscar.

Giamatti robbed too - not even nominated. But Madsen lost to Cate Blanchett whom I like a lot but she was not acting so much as doing a bit in The Aviator.

Yeah I would definitely have given it to Madsen. Not a fan of people winning Oscars for doing impersonations, just seems like nowhere near the challenge (see also, Ramy Malek winning for Bohemian Rhapsody. I’d have gone Bradley Cooper in Star is Born that year). Exception for Daniel Day Lewis as Lincoln because he’s beyond reproach, and obviously there’s no audio upon which to base an impersonation there.

Poll idea - ‘Female Celebrities Who are More Racked Up Than You Think!’

First name that comes to mind - Brie Larson:

Fixed. Groucho Marx explaining why he refused to see Samson and Delilah starring Victor Mature: “I have no interest in seeing a movie where the leading man has bigger tits than the leading lady.”

Lots of good movies here. One that belongs but would never be a popular choice for broadcast TV is the Art of the Steal, about the Barnes foundation. For many of us fortunate enough to have spent time in the original Lower Marion location, it was unique, unforgettable, and impactful experience. Places of that magnitude and cultural importance should be preserved and protected forever. The movie is largely about the decades long steps that inevitably led its destruction for personal, political and financial gains. The movie documents this process as well as any I've ever seen and is based in something I think we can all eventually relate to: The fight against city hall; the long and quixotic struggle that we can't help but become invested, even if just from the couch.

First saw her in that one movie where she was blind - had a bathtub scene that put her on full display. And, impressive.

Not a single throw away scene or line in the movie. Everything has meaning.
If we can declare a winner, I say it’s you. This movie is not relaxing, you fall in love with the good guys in 5 minutes and spend 1:55 praying they don’t die. The movie ends and you’re f ed up for hours
its BRILLIANT
