And I'll bet your motivation is the young man's education, not continuing to play a sport for Penn State. Right...
When they call them athletic students, I’ll be happier.
You May have noticed in another thread that I am in favor of getting rid of all athletic scholarships, toss the money into academic scholarships, and everybody plays by the rules of D3.
And since he made that video, the coach that he came to play for left/was fired, many of the teammates that he came to play with left, his little sister was shot, and his dad and brother were shot, with his brother dying from it…I’ll give the guy some slack, as I can’t even begin to imagine what Sam has gone through over the past year.
Unless Penn State gets a stud big in the portal this wasn't going to be a tournament team next year anyhow. I would have like for him to stay as the Sixth Man and be some scoring punch off of the bench but his minutes can be distributed to the freshman and speed their development 4 the following year.
Some very good freshmen Guards coming in, so maybe he saw competition that although he can score may have led to less minutes off the bench or even if he had started. Shrew is bringing in big time recruits and to build for the future he has to give the majority of them minutes next year if he sees the promise in them when they get to campus that he did when he recruited them.
