On the basketball side, we were Mikey Henn's 5th school when he played for us (UC Davis -> Cal Baptist -> Portland -> Denver -> Penn State).

With (scholarship) roster sizes going up to 105 this year, the 2024-25 offseason is going to make anything in the past look stable and serene (scholarship limits will also be going up - in many cases dramatically - for nearly every other NCAA sport).

In FBS Football it is going to be quite a show - with all of the "have's" feasting on the carcasses of the "have not's". Where are the top 20 or so programs going to find the 400 non-high school kids they need to fully man their rosters?
You may see the same kid trying to transfer 2 or 3 times during the SAME OFFSEASON (TIC, kinda'..... who knows, someone may try it, and what's the NCAA going to do?)

And, oy, wait until the bills start coming due!!

By the way:
Ohio State (The WORLD Famous Ohio State University!!) athletics lost about $10 million net last year (LAST year, before the revenue sharing and increased scholarship limits)

I had forgotten about Storm Duck until I saw him getting a lot of playing time for the Dolphins the other night. It does make me wonder if we'll see others coming in for Spring Ball, then quickly look for a new destination if they don't end up high enough on the depth charts...seems like it worked out for him in the end.

With a max of 105 it will be interesting to see how the staff handles special teams spots. No longer can afford 4 kickers, 3 punters and 3 LS. Need actual bodies for scout teams with no run ons.

I don’t think the coaches are very happy about this. The run ons play a huge role in most programs.

Wasn’t there a time in the past (70’s-80s?) when scholarships were maxed at 100?

Roster management will be critical. Special & Scout team challenges like you mentioned.
