Calvin Ridley suspended indefinitely for betting on games
Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley missed most of the 2021 season and he's set to miss the entire 2022 season.

Calvin Ridley signed a 4 year, $10,900,711 contract with the Atlanta Falcons, including a $6,007,790 signing bonus, $8,454,251 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $2,725,178. He couldn't be expected to live on that alone. No wonder he sought out a side-hustle.
Lots of thoughts on this one, but primarily doesn't the NFL promote gambling now?

They’re obviously going to do whatever they can to keep active players away from the gambling side of things. Integrity is a key to keeping that stream alive.
From what I heard on ESPN radio, he apparently used his own name on a gambling site.
What a crock of ****. Players, coaches, trainers, referees and the owners should be allowed to wager on the games. Prearranged outcomes haven’t hindered the growth and success of professional wrestling. Personally I’d love to know the outcome in advance. That would have eliminated a rage filled drinking problem in my youth.

EVERYONE knows from the time you start at Pop Werner to the NFL you CANNOT bet on the game. This was just stupid stupid stupid... he deserves the suspension. By the way the NFL will most likely reduce it later..

The NFL certainly would have made example of someone else had this come up in the recent past. Gambling on NFL games is pretty much the cardinal sin.
It is but the NFL proved long ago that they only react to headlines. I just don't trust anything they say.
