Thoughts?
Bigly.Lots of thoughts on this one, but primarily doesn't the NFL promote gambling now?
Calvin Ridley signed a 4 year, $10,900,711 contract with the Atlanta Falcons, including a $6,007,790 signing bonus, $8,454,251 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $2,725,178. He couldn't be expected to live on that alone. No wonder he sought out a side-hustle.
my first thought as wellLots of thoughts on this one, but primarily doesn't the NFL promote gambling now?
They’re obviously going to do whatever they can to keep active players away from the gambling side of things. Integrity is a key to keeping that stream alive.Lots of thoughts on this one, but primarily doesn't the NFL promote gambling now?
From what I heard on ESPN radio, he apparently used his own name on a gambling site. They’re obviously going to do whatever they can to keep active players away from the gambling side of things. Integrity is a key to keeping that stream alive.
That would have eliminated a rage filled drinking problem in my youth.
What a crock of ****. Players, coaches, trainers, referees and the owners should be allowed to wager on the games. Prearranged outcomes haven’t hindered the growth and success of professional wrestling. Personally I’d love to know the outcome in advance. That would have eliminated a rage filled drinking problem in my youth.
Lol? Maybe his agent should tell him to STFU.

Yeah if he just called his bookie none of this would have happened.I have a lot of vices but man I'm glad gambling isn't really one of them.
I can't imagine this is the actual first big infraction in recent memory. The NFL must want to set an example at this time.

The NFL certainly would have made example of someone else had this come up in the recent past. Gambling on NFL games is pretty much the cardinal sin.I have a lot of vices but man I'm glad gambling isn't really one of them.

Agree.I just find it hard to believe he's the only bonehead in recent times.

It is but the NFL proved long ago that they only react to headlines. I just don't trust anything they say.
This wouldn’t be a headline if the NFL wasn’t suspending him.It is but the NFL proved long ago that they only react to headlines. I just don't trust anything they say.

Big difference between doing it, and allegedly doing it. Florio is a shill for the Union
I was taught long before Pop Werner to not hit people, but that hasn't stopped NFL players from committing domestic violence and those suspensions were much shorter.EVERYONE knows from the time you start at Pop Werner to the NFL you CANNOT bet on the game. This was just stupid stupid stupid... he deserves the suspension. By the way the NFL will most likely reduce it later..
And Goodell is a shill for the owners. I'd argue that if true, what Ross did was 10x worse than Ridley.Big difference between doing it, and allegedly doing it. Florio is a shill for the Union
