And Goodell is a shill for the owners. I'd argue that if true, what Ross did was 10x worse than Ridley.

you could argue that if you want, but wouldnt, if true, trying to lose, be reflected in the point spread? Teams dont have to win to cover a spread, so a team could lose every game, but still cover all the spreads.

Are you implying the odds makers would get tipped off? Not sure what you're asking.

The difference is the first four are legal issues outside the game, but Ridley's is a football-related transgression.

As an aside, I really do not think the NFL should be applying discipline for off-the-field incidents, but that's another story. If the incidents are really criminal/legal issues, let the court system deal with it.

they would just watch their play on the field, after 1 game, if they are doing what BF suggests, it would be clear. And that's why I think what BF suggests is BS. And if not, he is an idiot for not asking for a contract extension.

But BF refused to do it and got fired because of it. 🤷‍♂️

Actually, ross went on the record a few months ago saying he would not be the one to pry hairball away from um.
he said that, but you werent watching the other hand. Jimmy was going to get the Vikings(?) job, which at that point Ross would have cover to say he wasnt the one taking him from UM, so now he would out bid the Vikes (?) for him. But for various reason, that plan didnt work.

If you committed an act of domestic violence, would it affect your job?

So you're saying that Ross was lying. He'll lie about one topic but not another. Interesting.

I am not certain. Maybe no. Maybe yes.

I cannot say that I have heard of people in my company being disciplined for outside the office transgressions. However, if still seems to be an over-reach and none of their business.

Q: Was it right for the NCAA to impose penalties for the Sandusky situation? That was “outside the workplace/football environment”?

True. What Ross did (if true) was way worse, especially considering that it appears Ridley bet the Falcons to win. Can't mess with the integrity of the game more than he did.

Sidenote on sportsbooks involvement in shenanigans with players. From what I hear from people in the industry, they would be very quick to point out any suspected corruption. In fact, I'm pretty sure that the sportsbook reported Ridley. More often than not, shenanigans in the betting market work against the books.

huh? Ross said he wouldnt be the guy to take Jimmy, but if the Vikes did, they were the ones taking him, so he might as well have him. There's no lie there.

That's hearsay. He came right out in an interview and said he wouldn't be the guy to take Harbaugh away from Michigan.

Morals clauses... these things negatively affect the brand image. I have a morals clause in my employment contract, if I am arrested for domestic violence I am fired (although I am not in a union).

I was taught long before Pop Werner to not hit people, but that hasn't stopped NFL players from committing domestic violence and those suspensions were much shorter.
