Article is behind a paywall, but the takes were essentially....

1. Cornerbacks are legit - King is and continues to be the standout. Dixon and Hardy also praised.

2. Defense ahead of offense (Defense looks special).

3. Allar taking most snaps and growing into a leader; very vocal, grabbing and talking to teammates, etc. This is great to see.

4. KLS emerging as 'the guy' at WR - dazzled in one on one drills and burned King in one of them.

5. RB's continue to shine, including transfer Potts and FR Montgomery. Allen beat Carter in a one on one drill that drew a lot of cheers from Seider.

6. DDS difficult to miss; lots of 'flash'.

7. Rojas and Vanover mentioned as other defensive standouts. King Mack another getting a lot of attention.

8. Franklin put the team in 'previously faced' in game scenarios; one that Snyder noticed was 'PSU - 21, Indiana - 20; 1:47 left in the game, PSU ball at Indiana 14' - this of course is the situation PSU faced in 2020 when Ford scored instead of killing the drive. Ford is at ND this year FWIW.

9. Overall very well run, well received event - fans lined up three deep in the rain (before it moved inside) to watch drills. Anyone get a chance to go?

I must've missed the part when practice was moved inside. I was there until 8:55 under the Holuba overhang.

Writeup sounds pretty accurate. Defense was well ahead of the offense and has the looks of a very special grouping.

Placekickers have plenty of leg, but accuracy was an issue last night. Take it FWIW, but it was a pretty steady rain for the last hour and that was a factor that couldn't be ignored.

As far as the offense, I can only hope iron sharpens iron and this D they battle every day is the best they see all year.

Thought I read it went inside at some point....from the article:

'Once lightning pushed practice inside the fans who stayed lined the perimeter of Holuba Hall.'

With the offense being behind the defense, I assume we blame Clifford for graduating.

I’m also concerned about Allar. We just have a one-word offense. No big words. Come on, Drew!

Sounds like Kaden Saunders is starting to step up at WR. He will be an.excellent slot receiver weapon if he lives up to the his projected star status.

Son and I walked out at 8:55. While making our waying around Holuba and as we got to University Drive, there was a flash and bolt of lightning north of campus. When we could again see the fields from University, the players and fans were leaving the field. They may have moved inside, but the event was ending at 9 as well. Perhaps more NIL activities after that time?

I was in same location. I saw the team go inside, but did realize fans on field level followed or I would have probably went in. But, believe it only lasted till about 915-920 Believe it was mainly I on 1 drills. at end, players slapped hands with fans, thanked them for coming, etc.

This board is responding much more positively to the open practice. Many on the premium board committed hari kari because Allar didn’t throw 5 tds.
