I like the timing.

Two years off to refresh coupled with Nittany underperformance and both he and PSU Nation will be ready for very needed change helming PSU Football Inc 🏈

James Franklin is officially and deservedly on the ….Hot Seat 🔥 🪑

The clock has commenced. 🙏
Why because you said so? Rhule just got fired because he was doing a "great' job I suppose? What is the old saying about a sucker being born every day?

Rhule got fired because he didnt fix his QB problem, and maybe that is because the owner didnt think the Pathers were a rebuild situation and didnt do what really really needed done, tear down and start over. Oh course maybe Ruhle convinced him he didnt need to do that.

Unless Leonard completely craps the bed I think he'll stick at Wiscy.
But that is a good order.
I think Nebraska is a dead end job but then I thought that about Kansas football.🤷‍♂️

who's next? Auburn? Iowa? dare I say Texas A&M?
And how about Stanford? David Shaw hasn't done much after the first few years.

Nebraska has B1G money, so it's attractive from that standpoint. But, they simply can't do what they used to do - have homegrown road graders and recruit skill positions nationally (Florida espeically). There are just much better options, especially in the world of NIL (where a school like Georgia Tech could be way more attractive).

I don't see Ferentz going anywhere until he wants to. Maybe the same with Fisher - or not (A&M has proven it can recruit like Alabama, it just can't deliver results....). I think Shaw is at Stanford as long as he wants to be as well; he makes a ton of money though and the program really only grabs a few top flight recruits each year. But, Stanford is pretty excellent at almost every sport - I think they would like to be more competitive but might be an academic standard issue holding them back. Will be interesting to see what happens in the Pac 12 when USC/UCLA leave. I think Shaw is an excellent coach though.

I didn't know Nebraska had big money like that.
And Yea NIL changes everything.
I should have looked at Shaw and Stanford a little better before I wrote that. My memory was off. its only been since 2018 that they have fallen off and the last 3 years really bad. But yea I'm not sure how much they care about football. I mean I've been on Stanford's campus and football would probably not matter to me either. Its gorgeous.
I was just kind of kidding about FIsher. But if you are throwing around that kind of cash for recruits they are going to want more bang for their buck than they are currently getting. So depending how the rest of the season plays out his seat could start getting warm next year, especially with Ruhle now on the market and he knows the area.
I don't see Kirk going but maybe Brian.

I don't think Rhule can afford a house in State College.

Listening to the Yahoo Sports CFB podcast, the thinking is Rhule is or would be the best available coach for any open job (the top candidate, despite everything, is still Meyer). They basically said he could have any of the open jobs he wanted, noting Auburn is or would be the best available (capable of winning a NC) if and when it becomes open. Some speculation he could punt until next year (when maybe A&M or Oklahoma open up), but word is he's not the punting type. They also said he's not likely to take a job too far from any coast, whatever that means.
