It's time. Sit down with Franklin and negotiate an exit strategy. Let Franklin go to a middling ACC or Big 12 squad to help rebuild their program. Get someone who understands how to build teams in the trenches. Someone willing to sit an ineffective player, regardless of whether it hurts his draft stock.

What exit strategy? You fire him and pay the buyout. There is no incentive for Franklin to work with PSU on an exit, unless Penn State is going to go all Play Now with George Costanza.

Franklin would be better served by going the Urban route and just retiring early. Get a nice gig on the Fox Big Noon pregame show or some such.

If he has invested even poorly, Frankin will never need to work another day im his life.

When can he start?

There is no buyout for Penn State. They owe the balance of the contract if they for him. Buyouts are in contracts if the coach wants to leave to coach elsewhere.

How can a school with 800,000 living alumni not have the money to send this douchebag packing. And can’t we send trump and his cronies after Barbour for signing such a god awful contract.

Give Franklin a different job and name somebody on the staff head coach. They have to pay him anyway. Head janitor works for me. He could be the highest paid janitor in history.

Like I said in another post. Don’t fire him…just move him out of the football office. It’ll be far cheaper to keep him on the payroll then buy out his ridiculous contract. Maybe his pride would compel him to walk away.
Move him to the basement.

Through Adversity Comes Change

I am hopeful.

'Tis better that it happened earlier in the season rather than later.

I tried to tell you people years ago.

I am now firmly on the fire franklin train. I can understand this being a trap game traveling out west after a hard fought loss to Oregon. I cannot understand the lack of effort and basic understanding of the game of football on Franklin’s part. It is inexcusable. He is not mentally present.

Sounds exactly like Saban. I know he wouldnt want to coach, but i sure would bring him in to help with the search, including interviews. I want Saban to help find the next Saban.
