"Penn State Basketball's new head coach Mike Rhoades hasn't been on the job for even a day yet, but it already leaked on social media that former Nittany Lions star guard Joe Crispin will be joining his staff.

The report came out on Twitter shortly after the Board of Trustees at Penn State approved the hiring of Rhoades, as Matt Fortuna of The Athletic broke the news.

Crispin is a Pitman, N.J. native, who comes to State College after several seasons at Rowan University down in South Jersey, where he was an assistant coach from 2014-2016 before being promoted to head coach, where he's been ever since."

FYI, my son was active this past year with the Park Avenue Army, soccer supporters. The athletic department does not want the student fans groups using group names that play off of the name of a coach. That’s why there was no “Shrews Crew” the past 2 years. The AD wants to stick with generic names like the Legion of Blue (hoops) or the Wrecking Crew (volleyball). This was a direct fallout of Paternoville after the scandal. As much as I would like it to change back in honor of JoePa, it ain’t gonna happen.

One exception to this rule is Cooperstown (baseball) for coach Cooper. Not sure if the AD is trying to change that.

Son is 6’2 and committed to play football at Colgate. He was an all region basketball player. The daughter is a HS lacrosse player but did play basketball. The youngest, of course, is on junior basketball teams.
