Inch & Co had lease verbiage spelling out tenant penalties for posting bad reviews of properties and/or its management.

Jeff Inch said in an email: "It was trivial verbiage in a lease agreement. It was more economical to just pay the fine and change the verbiage, than to keep it in the lease."

Really?

Far and away the biggest scammers in any big college town are student private housing companies. What in god's name is this f*cksh*t?

It stated that if the tenant breaches the clause, the landlord is entitled to damages in "an amount equal to (2) months Rent (as actual damages are nearly impossible to provide) or actual damages if Landlord is able to prove the same. Truth shall not be a defense to this contractual term."

Now that I have a few more minutes, here’s where I was going with the subject. There’s an oft-overlooked aspect of NIL, and that is players considering their own brand when accepting a deal. There will be occasions when they will be offered compensation from agents that may not be viewed favorably everywhere. I’m not going to pile on Inch & Co, although I do have an opinion on this particular item, but it sort of begs the question as to who looks out for the players’ brands, and even the spillover to the University/ICA’s brand on these matters.

And very interestingly, Iowa’s most prominent wrestling booster - their “Ira Lubert” if you wish — has been in the news for arguably predatory behavior toward powerless tenants.
