Just thinking....he has ties in the state of Florida being with the Bucs for so long. He has the Super Bowl history. I don't know, I am trying to think of names that are not currently associated with college football.

Low listed Stoops, Petrino, Mullen. Crap. We're probably okay, but this is a story that will affect recruiting until it is resolved no matter what.

I'm trying my best to grow wool here, and hopefully if Dan stays it will help recruiting; because Mullen's name being thrown around will maybe nudge recruits into believing that they won't be playing for a bona-fide dumbass.

Maybe. For God's sake, just maybe.

The reason is there is already a perception that Mullen knows what he's doing. They don't need any more proof. And just two weeks ago we were laughing about Nutt and Kansas. By the reasoning you outlined, that would have helped them in recruiting, and we know that's absolutely not true.</p>

Wooly, yes. That's why I specifically addressed the issue. Just trying a different approach to my naturally pessimistic angle of attack towards MSU football, although deep down I know I'm just trying to fool myself.

But as far as Nutt to Kansas thing, I'm not sure. They definitely have better recruits commited (on paper) than we have thus far.

Now, where's that key to my gun safe?

this is a damn important time of the recruiting season to let recruits know the typical "I have no interest in the florida job"
