Could have easily put up a big number on Sproat with a little luck. We've had a lot of base runners to only have 3 runs. The interference call was game changing and downright awful.
He didnt taunt anyone...he yelled "let's go" looking at the ground facing the outfield...
Hicks was hit hard the last inning and a half and caught a break on a couple outs. Sanders is a starter who can give you innings. The move made sense
UF is one of the top hitting teams in the country. Hicks held them to 3 runs. That’s about all you can ask for. They’re going to hit the ball hard.
3rd time through the lineup, they had a ball out of the park, to the wall, and lined hard off him the inning before with a runner on third. They very clearly had him figured out.
Feels like we should’ve had 5 runs or so before the 5th. The Wimmer base running fiasco was just a killer. Feels like UF has gotten the breaks tonight. We need one in a big way.
That BS interference call may have cost us the game, since Petry singled and still would have been no outs. What the hell he gets tripped up by the first baseman, who didn`t even slow down when he ran after the ball, should have been at 2nd base automatically. What the hell was the explanation for that? If that had been a regular season game I`m sure Kingston would have argued until he got tossed. Can`t afford it in the postseason.
The 1 - 2 - 3 double play Messina hit into was a critical play in the second. We had a chance to break it open with the bases loaded and get in their heads. Just wasn't in the cards tonight.
